I used to work on dot matrix printers. It looks like these inking systems use similar technologies as the printheads on those kinds of printer.

David Zimmerman ~ Interesting you should say that Paul Surat The Artist Considered the Founder of Pointism, in which the painting was comprised of dots & dashes to make a picture. TODAY'S HD TV'S use Pixels a series of dots to create pictures. The closer the dots the more defined the picture. Tattooing is just dots of the needles, to make a design. You mentioned Dot Matrix Printers, alot of tattoo artist use them to print stencils. Since the printers motion duplicates the human hand. You can just print it using your hecto~ graph ink paper better known as ditto sheets. But yes it is. I posted this because Painful Pleasures & a few others are trying to create a more standardized needle grouping chart. You see there's not a lot of standardized needle grouping charts amongst manufacturings. 1 calls it it 1 thing the other another. This IMO MAKES SENSE.
