PROBLEM WITH 2014 TOYOTA COROLLA NAVIGATION SYSTEM

DRINVING ON FREEWAY MY NAVIGATION SYSTEM FREEZ ...SO I STOP AND TURN CAR OFF AND START CAR AGAIN ...After that SOFTWARE START TO INSTALL BUT CAN'T COMLETE THE INSTALATION...VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I DONT HAVE RADIO BLUETOOTH NAVIGATION...SORRY WITH ENGLISH!!!!

I have the same problem, we should run a campaign for Toyota to solve the problem for us at no cost because there are many cars with the same problem

Maybe it's time to go to the media about this situation since Toyota doesn't want to deal with it. There are lots and lots of people having the same problem. Not a coincidence.

If you’re out of warranty on this problem, before going to Toyota and wasting your money look at Crutchfield’s offerings. I found on their site a double din radio head 7” screen, prewired easy install harness and replacement matching dash trim for $449. The instructions were amazing and took a couple hours to remove and replace. The new head does Bluetooth audio streaming and has AM/FM radio. The best part it does Apple CarPlay and Android Auto by plugging into the USB port. I can use Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Spotify etc right on screen with CarPlay. All steering wheel controls retained and dims when lights turn on, reverse cam looks better. It’s all touch screen controls and the screen is bigger than stock. The trim piece around screen looks terrific and my 2014 Toyota feels like a brand new car. I realize now what a dog the stock radio is. I’m glad nowI had it failed like this. Forced me to do research and go for a wonderful upgrade. I threw the stock radio away.

I just took my 2014 Corolla in to service today for same exact issue, software keeps attempting to reboot. I called Toyota first to create a case number, make them aware and find out what to do. I was told by a Toyota rep this is a common issue with 2014 and2015 models. He said it is caused by bad firmware and to tell service the firmware/software must be updated. My service advisor had seen this issue many times before. Unfortunately the update didn't work (I was told this happens in some cases) and they will be replacing the system. However I am lucky to be in warranty for one additional week. When I asked him about the prospect of yet another issue with the new system, he said having a case in with Toyota will help as they will be aware of prior issue if reoccurs. Toyota has seen this problem many times over. If you are out of warranty I would suggest contacting Toyota directly and escalating to corporate if necessary. Corporate can be contacted using the same 800 Toyota customer service number.

My Toyota Rav4 just started doing that lucky for me I have 6 months for the extended warranty to expire, so I made an appointment on Thur.

I keep seeing people post their mileage with regards to the touchscreen? WTF is that even related? Seems to me that Toyota stocked a faulty radio system that doesn't sync well with the CPU that drives the touchscreen. It's not the screen itself since everyone can still use their rearview camera and see it on the screen. I'm surprised nobody has a solution for this

I have the same problem with 2014 Toyota Corolla and I think Toyota should take the responsibility to fix this problem and if they don't, then we should assume that this their scam to make more money and therefore never buy Toyota again.

any solutions? my corrolla 2017 had a similar failure, no radio, no navigation, no camera - toyota says "internal failure" will cost AUS $10,000 for replacement part from Japan !!! yes ten thousand !

I have a Corolla LE 2015. same problem. They charged me 90 $ for diagnosing. they dont know what is the reason. They want to replace the radio. I am waiting for the price. Toyota is making money from this problem😡.

Same problem here dealer straight up told me they i need to replace the head unit i ask them why and what cause this problem and basically said they cant figure it out update software doesn’t fix it and its just rebooting cost 1000$ to replace sux but they cant do anything about it because they dont know whats wrong with it...

I have a Toyota from 2014 and I had the same problem after a year that I bought it, I went to the dealer and they told me that the radio was no longer useful and that they were going to replace it with a new one and the cost was 3000 .. .wft...
