Agreed that they should have body cams. Here's the problem: Who's going to pay for it? The cameras and all of the costs associated with those cameras adds up to a lot of money. The department will have to purchase certain software that is very expensive along with the cameras. Bottom line? Taxes go up to pay for it.

Greenburg is always rolling her eyes, talking while bobbing her head, and has a snarky attitude. I watched a case a few days ago about a highly disabled child and she said (and I quote) "y'all live beside a rv park, so just throw him (maybe her) in one of the empty rvs!" She rolled her eyes so much during that hearing. I was disgusted by her. These are the people who are supposed to protect children that are supposedly in harms way.

In my old age I know it's not a matter of some people needing to leave a job position because it doesn't suit them, or they are not able to cope, so they should leave, or any of those old reasons. These days it seems some people give themselves away as being exactly where they wanted to be put, because of the unspoken benefits that the position carries for a personality like them. A need to abuse, tear down, tyrannise, weild power over... some jobs seek out people who show signs of these in their psychological profile. Not her job though. And the interviewers and applicants for those profiled jobs know nothing about the applicant's desired traits. I wish I'd kept that book.

@mariecole9948

They so would. My brother got his kids taken away in Texas (very complicated, but it was the right call) My mom was actually the one to call on him and his wife, well his case work didn’t like my parents (we are a very Christian household and they sent my younger siblings to a private Christian school). Well this worker came after my parents and tried to get my siblings taken away, with no cause just because she didn’t like the fact that my parents were Christian who sent the kids to private school. They tried to say that they had left my siblings with my brother (never happened as the only person they trusted to watch them was me), then played dirty by trying to do all this in a different county than we lived in (our city is made up of 2). She got reamed by that judge, and he told cps that this was a dirty tactic (which is ironic as it’s easier to lose your kids in that county than the one we live in). Well she then tried to resubmit in our actual county and she got in a lot of trouble with the judge as there was absolutely no evidence for them to even come after them. Saddest part is during all this they sent all 3 of my nieces to live with a cousin in Wisconsin, knowing that my parents wanted to take them in. The cousin they sent them too is nuts, allowed her ex husband who sexually abused his daughter to live with them at this time and had been through several cps cases herself with her multitude of kids.

When a government agency has the power to remove kids from their parents they need a lot more than feelings and vague generalities.which is all CPS brought to this hearing. Police also are granted great authority, but police who exercise their authority based on feelings and not specific law end up fired or in jail. CPS is a mess because the system as designed is a mess. It's rules and operating procedures is one gigantic gray area.

I went through something like this with an ex girlfriend. She had 6 kids from her first marriage and CPS removed them due to problems she was having with her abusive ex. The case dragged on for over 2 years, as my ex's mother was essentially brainwashing her daughter with a sleuth of conspiracy theories and misinformation about CPS, leaving her unwilling to cooperate with the department and in a state of rapidly declining mental health. They ultimately ended up sending her kids to live with relatives out of state, and I ended the relationship when her mother dragged her down the Qanon rabbit hole

Wow! That was insanely chaotic! Sadly, gma will still have a huge presence in the mother’s and children’s lives, after they close the case. I say this often, but as a foster mom, I rarely see sobriety last. When meth is involved, it is quite common that the parent relapses. I agree w/ the one case worker, on that. The percentage of sobriety is so low, that I’ve never seen a parent keep it. Eventually, the child comes back w/in 60 days after reunification. They stay sober until the case is closed, and then they start using again. I have never seen a person maintain sobriety, when it comes to meth. I have seen it in parents who pop pills, but never w/ meth. I truly hope this mom will be part of that 3%, who never touches the drug again. I do wish her all the luck in the world!

Teresa Greenburg and Ms. Gilmore are condescending . They are the problem. I worked for CPS and I can see there is bias issue. They haven’t noted any harm or potential harm to the children, just not getting along with the grandmother. This is wielding power inappropriately.

One of the most awful things about working with the public is that they can make the most awful accusations against you and you're supposed to suck it up and be offended. Of course the workers are upset and annoyed, are they just supposed to let this hostility pass them by with no response

I hate CPS and I feel like they just want to take the kids out and “fu@k you” to the grandmother. Why put these kids in foster care????? Omg 😱, yes, let’s screw these kids up a bit more and put them in a foster home. It’s a power play!

It feels like CPS is a little too personally involved in this. They wanted the judge to punish grandma for allegations made with no evidence, and Greenburg was not happy the kids weren’t moved to foster care. Sick.

These are so interesting but as someone in the legal field, I think it’s gross how TX doesn’t protect the minor children’s identities. In most states family court is not open to the public-for good reason.

That judge is way out of line. She needs to check herself. Cps is way out of line too with their superior and putdown attitude. I wouldn't put up with either. I would sue the crap out of Cps and that stinky judge. She has no business being on the bench.

You need the person's permission to record audio or make them aware audio is being recorded. 🤷 These DSS Workers are dead set on removing the kids from the family 🙄 bc they don't get along with the caregiver 🙄 not bc they are truly concerned for the kids.

When you use drugs and lose your kids you get restrictions, that's the consequences of not providing a good safe home. If a haircut is a bigger deal than being able to prove your sobriety that says a lot about a person

1st of all why would you want Someone too act differently because they know they're being recorded don't you want to see the true nature ? They may not show it if they know they are being recorded and you should know exactly the true nature of the caregiver .If the caseworker is given additude that needs to be taking care of our they need to go!.Just cuz someone works for CPS.or any other agency doesn't automatically make them good people! Mom and dad both should have to do the exact same services that is what is best for the children is it not ? What should be the concern is that The children are not being abused by anybody not Not somebody's job maybe on the line! What is best for the children is what should matter not what anybody else wants including cps. Grandma can have a additude that's her right really especially if CPS.worker is being rude to her.Dont blame her 1 bit ! So dad didn't know he was dad and another man thought he was ? Who's fault is that then that there was a confusion? MOMS !! Need alot more information to make a real opinion on this case really. Seems like everyone is only pushing mom cuz they plain don't like Grandma and how is that The best interest of the children? And the CPS.worker who is setting mom up for failure is horrible! Ypur own personal feelings don't matter here!! I question the rushing of all this cuz they simply " don't like Grandma" !! That's terrible

Senator Nancy Schaefer of Georgia worked as part of the effort to expose the corruption in CPS. The federal government pays incentives to state agencies based on number of removals and adoptions to non relatives (funded through the adoption and safe families act 1997, Title IV-E foster care program, etc) It's always about the $$$.

Sounds like a response from a child who has experience with cps…as an adult I’d be curious to see if your view of that experience is different. I feel the same but, as an adult I get why what happened to me happened. There are just some people who don’t deserve children. Doesn’t mean the system is broken. It means we aren’t all taught coping/ life skills…while it was the worst experience of my life…I’m thankful cps intervened

it seems to me the CPS worker Ms Brooklyn may be the problem. it appears she is kind of a Karen, Mom has done all her services and for all pretense and purposes seems to be doing well and getting her ducks in a row for her kids and Brooklyn brings up not if she relapses but when { like she has a crystal ball or something} and states it as an x addict I know she will relapse,, WTH to me I am betting the Judge wants everything recorded to keep CPS Karen Brooklyn in line not grandma. just saying the CPS working is an undercover Karen. I bet she is one of those people that thinks she has all the power. JS in my opinion if CPS Karen were to be replaced with a different case worker there would be no more problems
