My Sons Father and I divorced 45 years ago. Our Son was 2. My X could call anytime for a visit or overnight. He was an equal as a parent. Once our Son learned to use the phone, he would call or Dad would call him. Next thing I knew, was Dad knocking on the door and my Son looking at me and said “oh yeah, my Dads coming.” My Son was free to move between both homes. Dad always made sure our Son was prepared and where he needed to be before school. We were always on the same page about his raising. We all share family events together. We decided very early on, that neither of us would ever want to be excluded. Much respect.

You pick the right man to have a child with, and even when the relationship doesn't work out, your child still has great parents.

I love hearing stories like this. It always amazes me when I see two parents with only their kid's best interests in mind. Setting aside their hurt feelings and focusing on what matters rather than petty grievances to get back at eachother. My parents divorced when I was still an infant and it was not at all amicable. What followed for the next 18 years was my parents playing tug-of-war with me. I can't begin to tell you the effect being the messenger between 2 angry adults had on my life up until now. People don't realize how their actions can profoundly effect their kids, for life. I have a hard time telling people "no" or setting boundaries. This people pleasing had led to being a doormat for men to take advantage of in almost all my romantic relationships. The mere thought of getting married and having children is so terrifying to me that it's never been close to being an option. Wow. Sorry for that rant. Thank you for being a good parent to your kid.

As the child of divorce who was not able to have a relationship with my father until I was almost 30 due to my mother’s manipulation and interference, I have to say a heartfelt THANK YOU for what you and your ex did for your child. I can’t begin to tell you how much I would have valued that kind of co parenting so much rather than what I experienced. I hope your son appreciates how much his parents obviously love him to have been so willing to work together. It is scary how many people hate their ex more than they love their child. Thank you for making YOUR child the most important factor…not always easy I’m sure, but you clearly did an amazing job!

-After 8 years she still hasn't earned the access to unsupervised visits -Allegedly Major concerns by the supervisor about her conduct during those visits -Victim advocate involved -Lying to the court multiple times (in a way that is easily checked) -Complaining about time changes that she could have fixed -Failing to properly communicate -Asking for unsupervised visit in another state when she currently only have supervised visits -Allegedly skirting orders with grandma and calling incessantly -Baseless accusations of coaching and wanting unsupervised access (likely to coach him herself) She is painting a bad picture against her, and her own actions are the paintbrush. I'm happy that their son has one parent who seems down to earth and reasonable. She's likely going to be in for a rude awakening in a few years when the court starts deciding that the child is old enough to provide input into some of the courts decisions and puts more weight onto the child's own words.

All amazing points! This case has me sick. I have 8 year old twins and I cannot fathom not doing everything within my power to be with them. It seems like all of this “court stuff” takes up too much of her precious “me” time. I’d never put myself in this position but if for some absolutely insane reason I ended up here I would be answering every call, email, letter, telegram, and carrier pigeon message as soon as it hit my eyes and I’d do whatever was asked of me. She needs to grow up or just leave her child & his dad alone. In a few short years, her son will have his own say as to whether or not he meets with his mother at all!!! So sad!! 💔

cps stole my newborn on a "co-sleeping" concern only to return my son 3 months later as "child taken im error". 3 months bc the state kept asking for more time for discovery and it was during the holidays. Even though it was a mistake on CPS, I still had to pay the state 3 months of child support. The system is broken and tried to traffic my son.

The fact that she says "whenever he asks me about the court case I just tell him he's too young" NO KID ASKS YOU ABOUT YOUR COURT CASE UNLESS YOU ARE TALKING TO THEM ABOUT IT. Cps is just one of those hard type it of situations. Damned if you do damned if you don't. Ive seen a few court cases where cps agents wernt on time, this one case where the case worker was shut out of the house on a supervised visit where the mother went missing and the youngest child was a witness based off what he told the caseworker and investigation team during his Interview or perhaps it was the school teacher. They have instances where they are notifications from family and friends with grudges which they can report unanimously,there's the parents who wernt reported who eventually the kids died from their abuse and bodies hidden, there were kid removed for no apparent reasons that the parent or care giver knows. In the news this week I've seen a mother who left her baby in the tub seat to read a book to her other child,called 911 gave her sister's name and got arrested aswell as a mother and father who clearly have a drug problem left their child in a cage a playpen with zip ties and a gate ontop ,mother saying she has some illness and a bug was going thru the home, so dirty that the kid died from lack of care.There was a case where a mother of two children was scared to death of her ex husband. She told her friends and family he is going to kill her. Do you know that she fled from their country to Sydney to be safe and did you know that he (even though he had a prior record of something) he was able to have CPS order her back to the country and he kept calling he kept violating the orders In place. Do u know what happened? He murdered her. I can't imagine having to live knowing that if you did something she would have been alive. It's a tough job breaking up families but sometimes for the sake of the child it needs to be done.

That's not what the word psychotic means and misusing the word psychotic harms people who have psychotic disorders, like schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, brief psychotic disorder, postpartum psychosis, or who otherwise experience psychosis or take anti-psychotics. Happy Disability Pride Month.

@@AromanticPigeonMadness I am not misusing the word. Smirking and smiling like that while saying what she was saying appeared that she was not in the same reality we are. She was saying something that was sad and upsetting but smiling and smirking. So in my opinion she appeared as if she was psychotic. I have a son that has schizophrenia and when he has his episodes he does the same thing. So please don’t speak to me in such a condescending way when you really had no idea what I meant by that. I worked in the child welfare field for many years. Supervising agencies all have different policies regarding how they schedule and confirm visitation appointments. They tend to be even more defined and restricted if there's a history of lack of compliance and/or participation. So the agency requesting a written confirmation of intention to keep the visit, or else the visit is cancelled, is not uncommon - especially if she has a history of no-show. I have seen cases where the supervisor will not even retrieve the child until the visiting parent shows up, to avoid putting the child through the process of going into the agency for the visit, only to be disappointed.

This judge's demeanor is perfect for Family Court. I once worked in child protection/child welfare and this judge's personality is built for this type of court. Now, re: the Karen's case, I'd be interested to know the details of this case...back from initial divorce/custody circumstances. I wonder what her issues are that she has such limited custody. Also, who are these other people who didn't say anything the whole time?
@MHLegacy

My thoughts exactly. Family court can be very emotionally heated and one method of verbal de-escalation is to soften one's voice and lower your volume, which causes others to mirror your tone. This method is especially effective if you're in a position of authority, such as the judge.

i will say this, that judge is on top of things, and flat out told that woman, NO, that isn't true!! That was impressive!!! This rings a bell with me, as I have been through this with my ex. I was voluntarily paying my ex 300$ a month for CS, and I was only getting 300 a week unemployment at the time. She said she was happy with that, and that was satisfactory. Well a month later I got a summons to court for child support, she decided that 300 wasn't enough, and instead wanted 700 a month. She basically wanted me to pay for her support and saw me a open checkbook. The thing was, I got hurt at Walmart, and they denied my workers comp claim and also denied any medical care as a result. So I sued them and won. I was awarded 15,000 after the attorneys were paid. So she felt she was entitled to half, the only reason I know that, is because she brought that up in court, and told the judge she was being nice and only asking for 700, because legally she was entitled to half of my settlement. Now keep in mind, we were never married. The expression on the judges face was priceless, I wish I could've been able to record this. About half way through her argument, the judge said, I am going to stop this right here. She was like but your honor, the judge said, enough, stop!! The judge was a woman too, and told her, in no uncertain terms, she was not entitled to anything I was awarded, that I was the one who was hurt and even if this a divorce hearing, she still would not be entitled to it, so her argument is moot. As for the 700 a week, you aren't getting that either. The judge basically said, I was voluntarily paying 300 a week, and had receipts, you stated that you agreed, then decided you wanted him to pay your living expenses and brought him to court on that premise. Anyway, the judge awarded her 187.75 a month. Now I was giving her 300 a month. All her cases and motions she has ever filed, went that way, because she is from the thought, if she says it, that makes it truth in fact. All her motions have crashed and burned. I know 300 a month doesn't sound like allot, but here in NC it is all based on income, from both parties if both parties are working, if only one party is working, then it is based on that income. Well I was only getting 300 a week for unemployment, and that is way under the poverty limit and why the judgement was so low. 8 months later, we were back in court, and I was legally awarded full custody, and she had to start paying me child support. After I was awarded full legal and physical custody, she took me to court 8 times in 23 months, with motions for modification of visitation. When I was awarded custody, she was allowed 1 hour a week, period. After 8 motions, that never changed, and the only thing that changed, and it was mentioned in this case, was if she wanted to have visitation outside of my home or my presence she had to hire an outside agency to do the supervised visits. Which the Karen in the video said she had to pay 500 per session, and my ex would have to pay 150 per session. So this is all familiar territory to me. That is why I wanted to comment on this, I have been in this guys position, and had to fight this fight. Let me tell you. family attorneys are expensive, so I did most of this myself, and in 2 cases even with her attorney, I still won because she lied to her attorney about the fact concerning the situation and she ended up making him look like a fool. So, because of all she has done, she will never have any credibility in the courthouse, or with attorneys. You don't lie to your attorney, they can't be of maximum help if you lie, and she did. Anyway, I I liked the video and thought it was really good, Awesome job!!!!!! When this woman said she did not discuss the case with the child, I can remember my ex bringing that crap up with my son and I had to tell her to stop. He at the time was only 4 when allot of this was going on, and he doesn't understand it. Even when he was 7 and 8, she would do this, and I had to step in and tell her to stop. Well it got to the point where she started coming to my home whenever she wanted and my son thought all the problems and trouble that was being caused was his fault. He came to me and said how sorry he was for all the problems, because he knew it was all because of him. I at that point had to get a Domestic Violence Protective Order, and it was granted. But, again, that is why I say this had allot of familiar sounds to it.
