I believe the whole Merrett situation will just blow over, I feel like this is just clickbait but I believe the integrity warning will gradually gain more attention. I think in terms on what our 2025 list and how much members we are getting, we should be ok but I think Brad Scott will have a look at this list and try keep the professional and important players and get rid of the unprofessional players. Laverde, Stringer and Hind are too unprofessional to be in the AFL system. Merrett is apart of that friendship group but he is the more mature one of the group not because he is captain but you can tell that he really cares for the club. It seems sus how Stringer wants 3 years, $500K as a 30 year old and im pretty sure same goes with Hind, I think he wanted 3 years $500k too. Seems sus. @arsjth If you were reading reports and listening to this video, this was reported after the Collingwood V Essendon game (when we won) and Nick Hind was playing in that game, after that game he wasn't gifted barely any games. Scott knew from the start on what was going on so he didn't play him and now look at him, delisted. The AFL warned Essendon that someone bad has been in and out of the change rooms for ages and finally something good is happening. Stringer was apart of it, Laverde potentially apart of it (although he wasn't reportedly apart of it) and mainly Hind. All close mates, all wanting ridiculous contracts with ridiculous money for their age, skill and maturity. Something is up either them 3

@taliamason79863 күн бұрын
Merret 100% deserves a better contract right now based on how great has been. But the club cannot afford to budge when its trying really hard to shift its whole culture to a more positive light. The other thing too is Merret is 28 turning 29 early next month (at least that is what Google says) and any contract extension would mean it doesn't conclude until potentially his late 30's by which time he would be well past his prime and edging a lot closer to retirement. Its really unfortunate especially given the recent ludicrous extensions the likes of Parish, Redman, Wright, McGrath and even Ridley who at the time still had 3 years left. But those were terrible Adrian Dodoro's decisions and it seems like his replacement Matt Rosa is doing everything to try and clean his huge mess.
@dansharp28603 күн бұрын
Front ending this contract is what is causing this BS. Rumour is that he's not on a lot for the rest of it and his management decided to try and do something about it.
