I just bought a new 2023 Civic Touring two weeks ago. I’d been driving my ‘02 Civic LX for 18 years, so it was way past time for an update. My local Honda dealership has had NO Civics in stock for OVER A YEAR! Then like magic on January 1, they suddenly had Accords and Civics - mostly Sports, but they had two Tourings, both in the color scheme I wanted. Knowing the inventory is low everywhere in South Florida, I jumped on it! I was able to pay cash (no car payment!) and am super happy with the car so far. It’s gorgeous. And it’s a Honda, so it should run AT LEAST 10 years, hopefully closer to 15 years.

I have the same issue since I got my 2016 brand new back then. Went to the dealership multiple times and they just say "we can't reproduce". I also reported to NHTSA, contacted honda, had a case opened but nothing was ever done. Look up about the class action lawsuit, it is happening and you should join.

It's called the Baby Accord. Much appreciate all the coverage you have done. Talking about waiting list or time frame of obtaining a Civic Touring just insane. It's Sept. 2022 and been said mine will arrive in 4 to 6 weeks from the factory as now it has been 1 week. No VIN been issued yet since not finished. The MSRP gone up to $30,245 from $29,150 earlier in the year and dealership markup can be between $1 to $1,000 as average markup is $600 to $700. The 3 Honda dealers in Syracuse, NY have next to nothing maybe 4 to 10 new vehicles that most people not in the market for, the lots are empty and have some certified and used. It's 1st come 1st serve. Choice of car color is whatever being sent out of the factory. Take it or leave it. Therefore, with Sales Tax, Motor Vehicle Dept. for Plates, Registration, and Title, dealer fee and other fees .. Driving out a new 2022 Civic Touring will cost $34K, more if you get Honda Care which is around $1,300 to $1,500 for 8yr/100K and $0 Deductible. Tack on accessories you may spend around $36K. If you don't care about all the bells and whistles, you could get an baseline Accord for around $35K providing you or your dealer can find one. The car shortage will continue into 2023 and new car prices will rise another $1,000 to $2,500 for something that was $25K in 2022.

@@Shakeem Yeah! Shakeem, you are a nice guy. Work as it may be at your Honda dealer been rather interesting to say the least. Hope all is well with you are your GF/ or spouse. Thanks for your videos. I'll look forward to more updated comments/ videos on the Civic Touring, especially if new or reoccurring problems of the new 11th Gen. Not that I want problems but you seem to be well informed and capable of maintaining your own Civic. Since I am still in the mist/fog as when delivery of the 2022 Civic Touring, I've found another Honda dealer awaiting on the 2023 Civic Touring. Should I drop the purchase agreement as only have $500 deposit and there been no exchange and go for the 2023 model. Nothing exchanged hand and the 2022 still not delivered from the factory nor has a VIN been issued. Not sure take my money and go to the dealer getting 2023 Civic Touring as I suppose they too could be in for a long wait. Heard only small updates been made between 2022 and 2023 as still nearly in all sense the same car inside out. I'm plan on buying the small Bypass unit for $100 for the Stop Idle so don't have to press button all the time when starting the car. I don't like the fact car dies and restarts at a Traffic Light. Guess SPORT mode will be On all the time or get that Bypass. Thanks again.

I wouldn't say "First generation" as much as "first year of a new Generation and or major model change" where they change powertrain and inside or even frame up redesigns. I learned the hard way when Nissan released the "redesign" 3rd Generation Altima's back in 2002. It was a "lemon aid stand" lemon. What I mean is we would see a issue 2 maybe 3 months before they would do a recall on the issue to fix it. Nissan was fast to get things repaired, but it was a monthly thing to find something making noises or worst just breaking down. I think it got towed three times during our 3 years of ownership. All that did push me away from the Nissan brand as a whole. So from the experience the one thing I learned was never ever buy the first year of a full redesign. Cosmetic refresh or body refresh I am fine with, because the engine and transmission and internal components of the car are 95% the same, so I am good with that change up. I am really liking the new 2023 CR-V Sport (Hybrid). But I know better and will wait for the 2024 or even 2025 before I buy one.

But when not using Usb & just bluetooth you cannot get the voice part on the steering wheel to work. It says " voice recognition " is not available. So i either use the screen to make calls or plug it in using USB in order to use that feature. Hate to use screen as have to look at that & takes your eyes off the road for a bit. But did accidentally discover you can answer & hang up pressing the scroll wheel on the steering wheel. 😊 even though there is no telephone answer/ hang up symbol on the steering wheel like other cars have. 🤔 Weird

Shakeem question? Since a 2022 Accord 1.5T Sport and a 2022 Civic Touring cost about the same, which would you recommend? And why? Thanks in advance.

It depends if you are shopping for a mid size sedan or Compact Sedan. That’s a huge factor since both of them are two different sizes. Also the Touring Civic is fully loaded and the Accord Sport is one trim above the base model. So if you shopping for features Touring is the At to go. But if you need more space and don’t need anything fully loaded Accord Sport is a good way to go

Hello, Shakeem. You are a really decent gentleman discussing your 2022 Civic Touring and having provided us with some updates. I do have a question? about rough idle until the car warms up and engine noise while driving under 30 mph. (city). My wife's 22 Civic Touring (bought new in Oct. 2022) has a constant rat-a-tat rough-sounding engine when at stops lights and up to 30 mph. Then it seems smooth and quieter with higher rpm/ mph. It really hates driving up any inclines. Today April 12, 2023, having its first maintenance check at the place of purchase after 6 months. Civic has 1,557 miles. Suppose to do the typical # point inspection, oil & filter change, check out or diagnose the engine noise, body shop person to check the rear passenger door lower rocker panel, the factory installed/attached a damaged piece as does not fit well (has a half inch gap) compared to the driver's side and can see these jagged saw-tooth ridges in the plastic molding/panel. Knowing the body shop people at the Honda Dealership they'll just seal the gap with black silicone calking and say we fixed it and try to charge me an hour of labor and $50 for use of silicone. Already being charged $20 to put on the OEM Wheels (had bought 16-inch steel with Michelin X-Ice Snow as I live in upstate New York). The dealership put the winter wheels on for $24 back in early Dec. as purchased them from Tire Rack. Always thought with Oil Change would rotate tires for free as most places would. This will be the very last time going back to the dealership where I purchased the Civic. They are money-hungry conniving thieves. I hope your Honda employer treated you well or where you worked at one. Noticed the auto manufacturers are using very cheap paint and clear coats. Cars are very easy to scratch and chip. Not flake or peal. Probably won't have any paint left on the car if you drive through one of those desert dust/sand devils. Guess everyone is building cheap cars with the cheapest materials possible and selling them overpriced. More Airbags and tech gadgets that might work in an accordion vehicle, get into an accident and your vehicle is totaled. If I could afford it, I'd just buy a tank, and if other drivers don't move out of my way ... umm...life goes on for me ... that's what happens when you buy plastic consumable vehicles ... crush. I wonder, How many Air Bags are needed in a vehicle in hopes they are functional and will save your life. Truth is, never rely on any deployed airbag to save your life today vehicle crinkles like wadded paper. Average Fuel. Today says New 33.8mpg and the Previous was 23.6mpg ... the computer is confused. Maybe later I will give info as to what it costs to have the 2022 Civic Touring's first service/maintenance check-up. Black forever showing water spots and dirt as be the first and last Black car I'll ever buy ... hard to keep clean. Also will be the last Honda I'll ever buy too. My 1st Honda ever had was a 2011 Civic EX-L Atomic Blue with sunroof bought certified used in 2014 even though noiser cabin drives better than the 22 Civic Touring.

I been wanting a Civic Touring and I have heard that they are fun to drive? I am between Civic and Corolla
@Shakeem2 жыл бұрын
Definitely way more fun to drive then the Corolla. But it will really come down to which vehicle is available. It’s hard to get any
@Offensively-normal2 жыл бұрын
You won't go wrong with either. The Civic is a larger car. I'm 6 ft and had trouble getting in the back of the Toyota.

shoulda gotten a 2020 camry xse v6 same price way better car
@Shakeem2 жыл бұрын
Why would I buy a used car the same price as a new one with no miles ? Also the XSE has less features than the Touring Civic
