@@NAUS2Kfunny I wanted black or SGP. I’m ashamed, but I paid over sticker. They had me by the short/curlies. They’re just so hard to find and I traveled! But even the rural dealers are in the game…. Anyway in the era of the 50k avg car purchase I’m THRILLED I bought a civic, and a reasonably enjoyable one as well.

I can vouch for the thin paint. I got a rock chip within the first week of owning my 23 civic hatch. After that I got the hood wrapped and the front bumper as well. It's just nice to have that peace of mind knowing it's a bit more protected.

Really enjoy your videos on the 2.0 Civic Spirt, 6 speed. I bought my first Honda Civic, new, in 1982. It was 1300 FE. It got 38 miles to the gallon, it was a 5 speed. My mom and the Honda salesmen taught me how to drive it. Additionally, it was quite quick (for ANY early 1980s car, not as quick as the 1500 GL, though, lol). Watching your videos on this particular car bring back fond memories. I live in Buffalo and I have been curious to ,o ate your same model, locally, with zero results. The nearest one being in Syracuse w/ the manual, naturally aspirated, port injected Civic. I just wanted to test drive it fir myself and “relive” that experience. I have twin 15, nearly 16 year old sons who I want to teach Hiw to drive a manual Civic, lol. My daily driver is a 2016 3.6 H6 Subaru Legacy Limited. It’s a nice, nice car, but Imiss the Hondas I owned in my past. Please keep producing videos on that Civic, the twins and I love to watch them! Thank You from a fellow New Yorker.

My twin sons came along fir the test drive (they are 15 1/2) and they both asked if we could buy it. Sadly, we cannot. But, it was very fun to take it out and experience that N.A. I had an Accord 2.0 and failed to PPF the front end. I did ceramic coat the car myself, but by the time I traded it in the rock chips were horrible. The very first thing I did when I bought my Type R was take it in for a professional PPF & ceramic coating.

@@1anre the PFFis a self healing film so it is extremely effective for rock chips. As I mentioned I drive a significant amount of expressway miles and my last car was riddled with rock chips. The ceramic coating protects the paint mostly against the elements and makes the car easier to wash and keep clean. All in the PFF & professionally installed ceramic coating cost $3000.00.

Ceramic (keeps the paint looking glossy for longer with water beading) doesn’t protect from any type of rock chips. You want that protection and the best protection get PPF. Far as dents, ppf protects an abrasion from the contact then you can hire a PDR tech to remove the dent that doesn’t have paint damage. In other words, get the PPF. It’s a no brainer.

Your videos keep drawing me in to want one of these. So far, I've found two a little over a hundred miles away, but I talked with my local dealer and they said they would special order one to my spec and sell it at MSRP. I'm on the fence between this and a Subaru, though. I love banging gears in my Focus ZX3; so much more enjoyable to drive as opposed to an automatic, but I'm almost a century old and that Subaru kind of gives a little more practicality to my needs later on down the line, not to mention the AWD powertrain and ground clearance. I think the 2024 models will make up my mind in the end. Keep the videos coming and keeping me engaged!

@@1anre I have detailed cars as a job/hobby for about 5 years so I hand wash all my cars/family cars. If you search up “2 bucket wash” or something similar you will get an idea about how to wash the car properly. Mainly just a safe way to do it! I would use something like car pro reload to spray on after you wash and before you dry to help keep the ceramic strong.

The EX-l is quicker yes, but personally I don’t see the point for a daily driver, I’d much rather have the reliable and 2.0 NA engine. I recently found that there is a big water leak problem on the hatchback. Some have it, and some don't. If it's just the hatch, and it can be corrected, that's not too bad. Still on the fence with this car and the Mazda3 hatchback. Both cars have pros and cons. Your previous vid about the center counsel arm rest for this MT has really stuck in my mind. I would have difficulty putting my right elbow in a cup holder hole and expect to drive a long distances. Knowing me I probably would stuff a rag in that rear cupholder hole but Honda should have thought better with this to begin with. Hopefully Honda already has realized this and made a modification to it, but I doubt it. This Honda MT is still a great buy for commuter work, many have harped on this interior as being plain jane ho hummm cost cutting that Honda can be known for. Non memory seats are another complaint for this model.
