Josiah is the quiet hero of the Rhodes homestead. He's stepped up to the plate and beyond since Jonah's injury. Never seeks attention - just gets the job done. Hats off to you Josiah - you've become a man at an early age.

The Rhodes kids have the best of both worlds. They’re each so capable and thriving-yet join in playing with their younger siblings. They are remarkable kids! Heck, Lily is driving, cooking, baking and milking… Their futures are so very bright!!

Try putting a gate spring on the chicken run, it will automatically pull the gate to the closed position even if it doesn't latch the latch 😁 I've used them for this and my lower door section on my wood frame greenhouse... Works great.

Wish you guys all the luck and blessings in the future. I can't handle the 3-7 second cuts in this editing anymore. I watch YT to get away from short-cuts. Such an odd thing from a homesteader - most homesteaders are so relaxing to watch.

This is the journey of a homestead family with all of the problems, solutions, drama, comedy, character study, and growth that comes with it. There is also plenty of suspense to keep us watching to see what will happen next. It is great to see how all of the children are growing, maturing, and gaining confidence in themselves. That's great content.

I know having a horse can get expensive, with feed and all the tack you would need, but Lilly does so much for y’all and doesn’t complain. I mean she cooks better than most adult women. She cleans, milks the cows, takes care of chickens, she babysits and does everything you ask her to do. The boys have a motorcycle, they operate heavy equipment, they have chainsaws, well the 2 oldest boys do. Please start looking for a horse for Lilly. She is very responsible for a girl her age and she really does so much without complaining or even being asked. Anyway, I absolutely love how you and Rebekah raise your children. They are all well rounded, well educated and someday they’ll take over the farm. Congratulations on building a future for them. Much love and Blessings…😊

I think when the time comes, she will get her horse. They need to get the house done so they have time to help her until she can handle it herself. They are all so busy right now. I am so impressed with her cooking skills. Being the only girl around all those boys makes her one tough little lady. Nothing slows her down. She reminds me of the song I can do anything you can do only better. 😂❤❤. Your amazing Lilly.

Just a word to Jonah - hang in there, things will work out with your hip. I had a similar injury to my hip when I was twelve years old. This was over 60 years ago, and they didn't have the technology to fix it properly. I've lived with one leg two inches short all my life, and I can't say it's really hindered me much. I adapted to limping so that I didn't even notice it, although other people noticed. I truly hope they can even out your leg length, but even if they can't, you're going to be fine. (Just between you and me, a lot of girls found my "romantic limp" attractive, so don't worry on that account).

I come by and binge to catch up once or twice a year. Last time I came by, Lily had just started talking about getting a horse, Jonah had just gotten injured, and Henry wasn’t running around yet. I come back and Henry’s running around walking and talking like his own little person, Gideon’s taking initiative where he can, Josiah’s stepped up in a big way while Jonah’s been recovering, and Jonah’s making big research moves. I’m so excited for all the progress you’ve made on the farm, but I can’t give words to how much secondhand pride I have for you with them kids 💜 You and Rebekah are raising amazing future adults.

We always put all our devices on your video to help out, including playing the advertisements. Our way of raising the viewer count a little. Every but helps. I loved the chicken dance. Joy over little things!! It always reminds me that we Americans get too busy and stoic. We gotta swallow our pride and do a dance once in awhile! There is so much to be thankful for, and we take too much for granted.

Could you see if Jonah would be interested in building a power generating swing? If you want a gravity feeder for chicks, put a 10 gallon tote inside a 30 gallon tote & cut holes near the bottom in both totes. The inner tote is filled with feed, it drops feed into the space between the two totes, & the chicks eat from outside the larger tote. Holds 10 gallons...and feeds 75 sea monsters for 2 days
