Sorry for a bad video quality. Video editing is quite a new thing for me, so I just grabbed the first free software that I stumbled upon, which happened to be Lightworks. It's quite good overall, but the free plan limits you with 720p export option.
This video shows the process of procedural stylized stones generation we use to produce a lot of assets quickly for our Alchemica game

For anyone having problems with this please don't forget that he scaled the cube at the beginning in edit mode to 5

for everyone that get wired around 2:20. Try scaling your shape up by scaling vertices position in edit mode

Arguably the best procedural rock tutorial I've seen to date. Can probably take it a step further by baking the normals on to even lower poly versions of the rocks.

Will it feel Off if I did that ?
@dionsandy935
@dionsandy935 3 жыл бұрын
@@YoumojoJoJo I tried it for myself a while back and managed to get some... 'decent' results, lol. Still, I'm fairly confident that someone with more skill and knowledge than me could pull it off better. Either that or I'll just try again.

attention: you need to apply the 5x scale from the beginning or everything will be off

That's incredible and fucking strong, you can make your height map on Substance to shape as you want with your technique, just have to make the basic primitive shape, follow your tutorial with custom heightmap, convert as mesh, switch to sculpt mode to add detail and have incredible result without 5hours of busy sculpt. Thanks you a lot !

As another person stated, it doesn't worth in later Blender versions. This tutorial is still helpful though. I'd love to see an updated version. :) Actually scratch that: if you make your cube giant, then apply the transform, then you get better results.
