These look like a quality product. You can see why Culvert pipes of this size are so expensive.

When Japan started to produce and export to Europe some 1960 their products ware looked down to. Cheap garbage, but the Nippon guys grew fast, and now, 2024, we know since long what Japan produces. Advanced, high quality, things of any kind one could ask for. Surprising they are transported laying. Being bumped would be bad. Standing up looks like more safe.

Hume pipes. Australian development/innovation from ~1900 for the pipe itself, using the New Zealand Hume Pipes Ltd production method from ~1925.

That didnt look like a very secure tie-down setup on the trailer. One single chain and zero support for side to side movement.
Iron rebar? Not steel? Or stainless steel? Aren’t you concerned that it will rust?
@iatsd10 күн бұрын
Rust requires moisture and oxygen. Ain't going to be a lot of either inside the concrete. And stainless steel is too brittle for the job.

コンクリートは強アルカリ性なので錆びる心配はありません。
@peterwiles12996 күн бұрын
Iron / steel rebar in concrete won’t rust because the pH is around 13 to 14. However, over time due to carbonation, the pH will gradually decrease and rusting can occur. That might take decades or centuries, depending on the thickness and the application.
