Blind Shooter it’s a damn shame! My father was a corrections officer on rikers island who past away about 2 years ago and no one else in my household is licensed, so the detectives came to retrieve his 2 firearms, and they are sitting in 1 police plaza. I have to double check the paperwork for the exact timeframe, but I’m pretty sure they will hold them for up to 7 years or until someone in my household obtains a license. I definitely want to get those back. Will be starting the process soon, hopefully the covid shutdowns won’t prolong the process even farther than the already absurdly long process. Thanks for the vid man!

FYI, the city for the last several years has but the both the handgun and long gun applications online very easy to do now, you don't the only time you got to go to 1 PP, or Kew Garden is for the firearms inspection with the pink purchase form and get the serial number printed on the back of the license.

NYC Non-Resident Conceal Carry - it’s a long long shot, I tell friend from MA.
@fdnyesu3 жыл бұрын
Once again New York City does not issue conceal carry permits regardless if you are in city limits or from another state. People have tried using non-resident permit that they legally obtained and unfortunately have paid the penalty for it. Highly recommend nobody ever try bringing a weapon into New York City and think their non-resident permit is going to get them a pass

And that’s why I moved 2 months ago. Not going to tell me I can’t even own a knife to protect myself without breaking the law which in fact my constitutional rights supersedes ands state laws. Our forefathers and soldiers fought for those exclusive rights no state law can take those away. It took me an exact 8 days of moving to receive my concealed carry permit. Switched my license the first day I settled in which they gave me a real license not a paper, got my gun the same day. Walked into Cabela’s, searched for the gun I always wanted but couldn’t have in nyc. They grabbed it, told me to come to the counter to fill out my waivers and consents. Background checked less than 30 minutes and my background check and state of Albany approved me. Sucks because I live in pa and still my bg search consist of asking Albany but anyways. They told me I was approved, they got the gun pretty for me and paid like another 30’minutes and left. Put the gun in my trunk and the ammo and clips in my dash. Drove home, paid 25 dollars online for my concealed carry and they approved that within thennext 6 days. Told me I was approved, walked into the sheriffs office, they took my picture and gave me the card like it was candy. Never even gave them a reason to conceal carry, they automatically marked the reason on my card as “For Self Defense Purposed 2A) and boom. Walked around with 8 clips of 380 jhp and I can protect my family at any costs. Sad because the sheriffs said, “we know your from nyc, do not go with your gun or permit because they will prosecute you for a gun charge and this permit is not valid in their zone.” Glad I don’t live there no more what a slum. EDIT: Here in pa, we do not need a license to carry a firearm. You can open carry without a permit. All you need is your state I’d issued from pa. Buy your gun and a holster and put it on and outside of your shirt. You need to pay 25 for a concealment carry. You can buy any amount of guns, any amount of ammo etc. only things that are off limits right then and there is for suppressors and automatic fire weapons. Both will be approved but the fees are a lot. For suppressors you need to pay a 800$ atf fee but 9/10 they will approve it the same way how you get approved for your concealed carry and for automatic weapons fee can range over 6-25k atf fee. Very unconstitutional and very embarrassing seeing that everyone now knows that you have a damn gun. Btw that statement about not living by yourself applies to apt buildings. If you live in an apt everyone in that building with have to write those letters.

Is the NYC handgun permitting process the same for New York State residents who currently hold a concealed carry permit from another county in New York State? Or is the process outlined in the video for everyone regardless if you have a New York State concealed carry permit or not?
@fdnyesu3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately New York City pistol permits are separate from that of New York State. The only slight benefit having a New York State concealed carry permit is that it might help get your paperwork pushed through faster but not by much in New York City doesn’t and probably will never cross honor a concealed carry permit even if it’s from the same state

I just got off the phone with a gentilman I was referred to by a gun club here in NYC. He help's you through the NYC pistol process. Oddly enough around I think 15 yrs ago I worked for a company on LI where they charged a fee to help get you through the process. On top of the NYC fee of $500 these types of companies want an additional $700. And then of course which I already knew I am told it will take 1 to 2 yrs to get your permit. This is crazy for one, I am an IT executive and live here in NYC and Michigan. I got my CPL in Michigan in a matter on months, and since I am heading back to Michigan in a few months I said I may not go for the NYC permit. But yet shootings sadly are on the raise here in NYC I wonder how long it takes a criminal to secure a fire arm and commit a crime? I guarantee it don't take 1 to 2 years.

Does each additional gun after the first one cost another fee/license
@fdnyesu4 жыл бұрын
No it does not require an additional permit. When you wish to purchase a fire arm after your first one you must wait 90 days at minimum to send in what is called a purchase authorization form. This document allows you to purchase any handgun of the caliber that you have provided them. Once they approve you the purchase authorization you have to go down to police headquarters pick up the form and from there you have 30 calendar days to purchase the gun then from date of purchase you have exactly 72 hours to bring that gun in for inspection so they can add it to your permit. You’re permitted to have four handguns and after that it’s a another process to get A fifth pistol and more
@SteveHarwood-pq3fn3 жыл бұрын
@@fdnyesu have to add to this, after you get that fifth gun, you loose your right on denying NYPD from entering your home without a permit. Any law enforcement agent can enter at will without cause.

@fdnyesu4 жыл бұрын
Elliot Levy as noted in the video it is a lengthy and expensive process but stick with it and it’s worth it in the end. Why you cannot conceal carry here in New York City having a loaded gun at home definitely gives you a advantage if you are ever a victim of a home invasion. Otherwise yes it sucks being in New York at times but there are self-defense items you can carry with you such as pepper spray, tactical pen, tactical flashlight and a folding knife personally carries a flashlight and knife for multiple years now and I’ve only had to deploy the knife once in a while I wish I did not have to use it best believe I was glad I did

@fdnyesu4 жыл бұрын
Carlos Battousai you are 100% correct but thanks to Democrats traders in the Republican Party and lazy ass registered voters who don’t want to go vote we are stuck with the current permit processing system. Only real saving grace about all of it is most gun shops in New York city know what we have to go through so they sympathize with us and if you shop with him enough times they give you pretty good discounts and free stuff. Same goes if you order online and call customer service depending on who you get they tend to waive some of their processing fee

Hey folks good evening just wanted to say that if you apply for a permit at One Police Plaza you pretty much wasting your time your money you could not do absolutely anything with these firearm permits especially security guard carry it's worth I salute Lee nothing is extremely expensive and you cannot get another job with it the majority of the good jobs that are paying $35 to $40 an hour they giving those jobs to retired police officers because they have full Carry not because they retired or they were a police officer is because they have a full carry license and most of these employers do not want to hire any security guards or anyone that is applying for a job because most of these companies are not sponsoring because they do not want to wait nine months to a year to get a approved for a firearm permit when they can just get a retired off duty cop to work for them for no problem which is absolutely not fair to anyone that wants to be a armed guard you spent all this money becoming an armed guard taking all these trainings and you got low budget companies want to give you $16 an hour to be a armed guard anyone qualify for these good position and high paying jobs that are applying for armed it's just that companies do not have the time to sponsor anyone and they rather just hire someone that has a full Carry if you waste your time with One Police Plaza they not going to help then I got a day don't care about you they are very highly disrespectful they don't care about nobody but they own
@fdnyesu4 жыл бұрын
NOEL L. You’re actually not wasting your time and money because you can get what is known as a residency premise permit. This allows you to carry the gun on your person at the address you provided them and then allows you to carry it the proper Way to any shooting Range of New York choosing thanks to the new laws that have been passed.
@batmanlove29424 жыл бұрын
@@fdnyesu most definitely I thank you for your answer what I was pretty much trying to say is that none of those licenses are pretty much helpful and they don't do a solutely anything for you is too much money for a license to pay for and you can even get a job with it you can even you know employers these days they want someone with a full Carry at the moment that you can work with your firearm and work and and and you know they hiring retired cops because they do not want to wait at 9 to a year to get approved when they they can do a background check in about 2-3 hours they know who you are so that's what I pretty much meant you know it's it's worth noting I was I had a yellow card and I try to get so many jobs I was told you qualify but you don't have a full Carry so they allow employees told me that your license firearm permit it's a piece of garbage I have heard it from so many employers that is it is what it is you know no offense to your opinion these licenses do not make money for you you got to pay money in order to have it so it's for me is really not worth it you can go other places like New Jersey Pennsylvania you can buy your own firearm carrier on you throughout the whole state and you can work with that same firearm and the license is twice or three times much cheaper than New York City
@batmanlove29424 жыл бұрын
I used to have a home premise firearm license it was pretty much a waste of time just go to the shooting range spend money and come back I try to get a job absolutely nothing you still got to go through the whole process 9 to a year to get approved New York City really does not want to give you a firearm the only people that got straight access to full Carry or the police and criminals
@SteveHarwood-pq3fn3 жыл бұрын
Actually it's a 3 step process here in NYC and state, first you need that premise permit, your state security guard permit, after all of this then you're required to take the New York State 75 hour armed guard course, pass then send the 25 bucks in for your new armed guard card. Now you still can't work as a armed guard yet, there are several ways to go that route.. one get hired by a armed guard company then they'll sponsor you for a limited business CCW, don't give them your gun (big no no) they issue one of theirs, which you either have to pick up and return after each shift, or they'll allow you to bring it home. If you transport valuables and are on call then thats different. Way to much info to post here on it. You can forget about getting a armed guard position in NYC unless you're NYPD because they have a monopoly on it and make it so expensive insurance wise for companies to hire civilians... been through this whole process myself.

If one of the references has a permit it’s not going to matter to the investigator but it will help you when they ask why you want the permit. Now if someone is in law-enforcement it certainly could not hurt your chances. One of the biggest factors is to go to the in person interview as if you were going on a job interview with the CEO of a major company dress to impress and when they start asking the yes and no questions always reply with yes sir, no sir. I am interested in getting a firearm, your video has inspired me to apply, etc. I am hopeful that if you could get one on NYC, I have a chance get a permit here in Southern California. I myself am visually impaired and thought someone like me couldn't or wasn't allowed to own a weapon, hopefully that holds truth here in California Thanks for your video, greetings

If it is something you are interested in doing then I strongly suggest going for it. People are going to attempt to discourage you from doing it but don’t let it stop you get out there and prove them wrong. Best of luck in your process to get a gun keep us posted on your journey.

As far as the mental hospital what if somebody went when they was young by the parents voluntarily isn’t that different from the court
@fdnyesu4 жыл бұрын
That would be a gray area that could end up hurting the person when it came time for the investigation. Medical records as to why they voluntarily went in would be handy to have and even then given the current Second Amendment climate here in New York you might still get denied for the permit they pretty much look for anything to give them a reason to deny you a permit
@fdnyesu4 жыл бұрын
Saiyan Cartel there was a case not too long ago in New Jersey where somebody sought mental health counseling and had issues getting a permit and ended up having the doctor get a notarized letter drawn up for them stating that they were in good mental health standing. That is also part of the licensing process here in New York. You have to have notarized letters from other people stating that you are in good mental health and they are OK with you owning a firearm

Totally understandable but as others will tell you what happens in New York does not stay in New York. Gun control can will and has already followed others who have abandoned ship. States that were once pro second amendment and republican states have now turned purple and slowly becoming a Democrat anti-gun areas. Best thing to do is join the pro second amendment fight dig in deep and don’t give up. We need all the assistance we can get to rid the state of democrat scumbag politicians

Gamefreak they’re going to most likely look at you and say there’s no such thing as your Second Amendment rights in this state. You only have second amendment permission if we give it to you

When I did the paperwork back in 2011 once you clear security officers will direct you to the proper office where you can hand in the payment and they might also do your fingerprinting right there also. Again the process has been updated since 2011 so things might have changed

The Active Nothing if you plan on leaving the state in the near future I agree but if you’re stuck here like myself for the long-haul then it’s best to just deal with the process and when you get your gun you can smile the entire time they half to hand it over to you. For the record the uniformed officers in the complex where registration happens are down to earth officers those issuing the permits it all depends on the day LOL

Аня УтКина in New York City you do not have a constitutional rights you have constitutional permission. Break the safe act rules and regulations along with any other gun control laws they have implemented and best believe you can kiss your rights given to you by the United States Constitution goodbye plenty of people have fallen victim to the safe act alone and it is cost them hundreds upon thousands of dollars just to stay out of jail and go through the legal proceedings
