I just discovered your channel a few days ago and it already has been a very big help. I got into photography as a way to pass time when the pandemic started. I never took a class or anything like that in photography I only learned from KZbin and reading blogs. Your videos are helping me figure out a lot of better ways to get what I am going for in my photos. Your videos have also successfully made me loose my faith in the auto button. I have subscribed and look forward to more advice from you on making my skills better in Lightroom.

Nicely done Anthony. I particularly liked the idea of 'brushing' in sharpness during the Masking. Brilliant. Never thought of that before but it makes so much sense.

Good video Anthony. I use Topaz DeNoise for a fair bit of my wildlife photography, but these days Lightroom seems to do a very good job on my images up to about ISO 1200, taken on my Nikon D7500
@radiozelaza
@radiozelaza 2 жыл бұрын
Now do the comparison between that processed image and a DeNoiseAIed copy. There would be little difference lest you zoomed in. Topaz has the edge in sharpening the subject without enhancing noise, though. But overall, the new masking tools in LR really make it easy to effectively denoise such images

Great video, thanks! Even though I use Denoise AI this helps me to know how to improve sharpness when returning to LR.

Great video. Learned a couple things. The only thing I would bring up is that I would probably look at masking the eye of the bird and brighten it with either the exposure or shadow slider. I find that a lot of wildlife photos, have "dead" eyes. You may not have done this here because it is outside the subject of this video, but it would have been the final thing I would have done before printing. Great image BTW.

Your method is pretty close to the way I do it except for using the 'select subject' module and isolating 'parts'. I use high ISO all the time because my main focus is wedding photography. I love to catch reception images with the guest's iPhone screen's illuminance being the only means of my camera seeing them. We can see these images with our eyes but getting them on the sensor and to the client cleanly is another world of photography.

Ok, Anthony, supplementary question. Everyone makes long exposures with filters. I made one recently, using ten stops plus 6 stops, for one minute. My camera can time one minute, so no drama. It can be worse though, if I want to shoot more or les wide open. I could stack two ten stops, maybe even two 20 stops. I'm not trying to still the stormy seas here, I am serious. There are various ways I can shoot lots and blend later. I would use some ND filters where needed. Exposure bracketting, might sometimes be beneficial for tonal range. The relevant cameras have high res modes, make eight shots and blend in camera. Probably artefacts won't be a problem, but in-camera processing time might be. But I get eight minutes instead of one. Focus bracketting, in camera. Time lapse, one second between exposures. Like all the above, I can do this in-camera. Blend later. Continuous shooting using a remote release. Just lock it down for the duration. The question is, at base ISO, am I introducing noise problems with any of these? If so, is this still the best way of treating it? I could go and load up B&W film....
