I am identifying 4 different species of wild lettuce and processing some into the most condensed form you can process it down to for pain relief. I show the the whole process start to finish .

@@yedidyah-jedshlomoh1533 I have olive trees too. Time to bring them back into line and get them producing. In 2002 I drove over to San Antonio to buy the trees. They were tiny little twigs with a few leaves on them. The guy I bought them from was Osama Gohrab. Now that we don't have the sailboat as a distraction, I'll be getting the trees going again. Got a few one year, but it's a bit dicey here for that. Not giving up. I did get purple yams adapted here however.

I was raised on a survival compound ."Moms" used to slow cook like this with everything in a flour sack. They had a squeeze "board" they pressed in on, then the run-off returned to the pot. It would help to remove any plant material while leaving all the good stuff. Great video, very instructive, liked, and subscribed.

The last time I processed wild lettuce, I poured it in a 9x12 pan on parchment paper after most of the water is out but while it's still easy to pour. I then dried it in my oven at 100 degrees until it was rubbery which made it easier to peel it off the paper. Some of it was hard to get off the parchment so I'll use a smaller pan next time plus I've seen some people use silicone and dehydrators. THEN, I rolled it into a ball, put in a mason jar & poured 80 proof vodka over it which will help it keep and allow it to be used sublingually. I usually use 2 dropper fulls.

What we had was Wild Blue lettuce. After awhile I just told him it was not Cirsium, but it was Lactuca. He lost his cool and freaked out and he never came back. I had some plants I keep in my flower bed. I harvest the latex throughout the season. I pull up the kids hippity hop, sit there with a piece of glass(from 5x7 ftame) and wipe latex on glass. Once it's dry, a day or so later I scrape it off and add the powder to a finished tincture or the finished black goo. I have to take a smaller dose for the same effect. The crock pot was my question! So thankyou for that. I'm standing at the stove for my 8th hour now making sure this doesn't boil. In an hour or so it's going to be done...praise God.

Thank you SO much. This is the first video I've ever found that shows virtually unhaired wild lettuce. I've got lots of it on my property and although my leaves look more like others' wild lettuce than like yours, you were the first person who has said that the hairs on some of these are undetectable. That stuff with the yellow flowers you showed...that's totally what I have. I've known instinctively that this stuff in my yard was wild lettuce and needed to be used, but I couldn't find enough confirmation until now. Plus northern and southern wild lettuce can be so different that I needed a southern accent video to make sure I was doing it right. Thank you! I wish there was a way to rank YT subscription list cuz I'd put you as #1.

I watched another channel earlier for my first time introduction to the benefits of wild lettuce! He reduced his in 90-100 proof grain alcohol. As a recovered alcoholic I dont buy or have liquor or any type of alcohol in my house! That said Im grateful I stumbled across your video! I can just use water , woo hoo!! I love your Mississippi accent ! I’m a native Californian, which I am looking forward to moving away from!! I thoroughly enjoyed your video!! You narrate perfectly, and I enjoy watching you . That’s very important to me! My interest is lost real fast if the video is too slow with a repetitive narration ! I like that your straight up and loved the comment about not needing to where shoes in Mississippi 😂😂! I thought of huckleberry Finn! Lol ! I live in the desert just north of Los Angeles and I too hate to wear shoes, BUT our sidewalks and roads get too toasty! So , all that said, Im looking forward to finding me some wild lettuce!! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom for all of us and I look forward to watching more of your videos❣️❣️❣️ I liked and subscribed right away!! Have an awesome day❣️❣️❣️

Wow! Great video & the best I've seen on how to cook down the wild lettuce. I have so much of all varieties of the wild lettuce growing here that I don't have time to cook it all down right before it flowers. I usually strip the leaves and air dry them then vacuum seal. Wasn't sure if they could be rehydrated to cook down later or not but after reading some of the comments, I will try it as a tea & see if it will work. I am glad you confirmed my thoughts about the stalk having a lot of the medicinal properties in it. I thought what a WASTE to toss that big stem/stalk with all that medicine in it. I live just NE of Mobile, AL so it grows HUGE here as well. 8-10+ ft tall on thick stalks. I stay in my 40 acres of woods always foraging edibles, medicinals, and mushrooms (tons of turkey tail & chanterelles here in the deep backwoods & lots I can't identify yet). Folks are waking up to the need to GET BACK TO THE BASIC'S of making your own medicine (AND GROW YOUR OWN FOOD) as times are about to get really rocky. Glad to find your video that popped up in my recommended vid's. New subscriber & look forward to watching more of your older vid's & new uploads!

I've also dried it down until it's rubbery like, put it in a mason jar, covered it with 80-100 proof vodka, then dosing is by drops or dropper fulls. I take 2 droppers full of most of my tinctures.

I've used the wild lettuce for pain before just a few leaves chewing on them, I do have to be careful not to make a big salad of it when it's tall, though, it seems to affect my breathing. I've gone through much healing with a vegan diet, especially for my back . I had suffered from arthritis for many years and I very rarely have any attacks from it now I'm glad to report . I prefer natural medicines now due to less side effects, usually a tablespoon of Cayenne is enough. And the Healing Mystery for holistic healing too!

@@mjkay8660 I`d say 2-3 dropper in a glass of water (or straight in your mouth! or in your coffee or tea -- chaga tea ) once you liquify the tar ( vodka tincture ); from the tar stage you could put the stuff in a dehydrator and process; he did mention that powder of crystalized makes it shelf-stable (although a vodka tincture make it stable for a long time, I do my indian pipe this way); as for the taste, try it nature 1st; it could be odd at 1st since its a taste you never had we all are used to insanely sweet or insanely salted, this "bitter" taste is just "earthy"; think asparagus. Yah there's been some new information about the compounds found in Lactucarium: Lactucin & Lactucopicrin in that it acts on the CNS (Central Nervous System). And, someone dumbed this down for me: the Lactucin acts upon the adenosine receptor as an agonist, where as Caffeine works on this same receptor as an antagonist. It basically (very basically! I am not a chemist) has the opposite effect of caffeine on the CNS. That's pretty neat!

At the end when you were struggling to get the tar out of the pan I was thinking of ways to make it easier to get it all. I don’t know if this would work, but would placing the pot in 3 inches of hot water help to release it? Also I have a round tipped cake icing spatula that’s about 10 inches long and 1 1/2 “ wide and very thin. Would using stainless steel work better than wood or plastic? Just wondering.😁 I can’t wait to make this! I suffer from Multiple Sclerosis, severe Fibromyalgia, chronic neck and back pain and was recently diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia!! It’s a nerve located behind your ears . If that nerve has suffered any trauma at any time in your life, ie; in my case being “cupped” ( slapped hard with an open hand that is shaped to form a small pocket in the palm ) not once but 3 times by an ex ! Praise God he’s in prison for a long time now! Sorry for carrying on so much. Anyways this new nerve disease is extremely painful . It makes my eye, cheekbone, ear and gums feel like I have a sinus infection, a severe earache, and abscesses in my lower teeth!! When you get down to the end, why don't you use a double boiler lash-up? It's so much easier and you don't have to worry about boiling your product. I bought a semi-expensive non-stick fry pan (copper finish inside) for exclusive use of cooking down medicinals. Non-stick makes it ever so much easier to get all of your product out of the pan. Your last pan would be great for the bottom half of the double boiler. Fill your pot up with water, bring it up to a simmer. Place the fry pan over the water, just touching the water and cook. You need to match top and bottom, so the top pan doesn't fall into the bottom pot of water. They certainly don't have to be an exact match. I've sent you a link that shows exactly what I mean, starting at 16:10 in the video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqSqiKuwZamAias

I’ve just made some using prickly lettuce. Blended in a NutriBullet then reduced in the slow cooker on heat 2. But I didn’t do a second strain, (couldn’t find the coffee filters) so still has some fine plant matter in it. Will that make a difference? I didn’t let it reduce down quite as thick so was easier to syringe out (and less wastage) into a small glass herb bottle - half filled the 100ml size bottle. It’s in the fridge now. Thinking just use a bigger dosage. Was wondering about adding some alcohol to help preserve it.
