Love the finesse involved in handling drums, the different ways different people roll them on the seam.

Very good. 2 main types, we called them "washable" or "Furnace". Always need to inspect underside of lid for rust etc. Each time a new head is rolled it reduces the height of the drum and the volume, so only recycle a few times. Looks a well run process, I operated plenty of drum handling equipment, so some looks very familiar.

I love the fact that this is going on. Recycling is awesome and good economics and environment! Great job. I had no idea that metal drums where recycled whole. I figured they would be just remelted into other stuff if they are even recycled ♻️! 😉

In 2006, the Japanese "Mottainai" spirit was incorporated into a draft statement for an international resolution at an industrial container meeting in San Francisco. The RIPA U.S. Container Reclamation Industry Association, SERRED European Drum Reclamation Industry Association, and JDRA Japan Drum Reclamation Industry Association work closely and strongly together and continue to make tireless efforts to reduce CO2 emissions 💪

Funny Story- In California when a steel drum has been used to hold toxic whatever, After use, that drum can not be used for ANYTHING. It has to be destroyed. You would think it could be used to hold more of the toxic whatever it held But, no. A brand new drum must be used each & every time. Weird. !

From which chemical we can remove mark from the pvc drum?
Don’t see any advantage of doing this, no way the inside is clean and it will likely contaminate whatever else goes inside - in the end you have a dented barrel, not clean inside in red with covered over rust areas - what’s the advantage?

Price? There is a big market for recycled drums for non food ingredients like lubricants, motor oils, cooling tower treatment, waste water treatment and many more when residual contaminants are irrelevant....

@@aniballaboy8398 i think the cost of a recycled drum is about 25% of the new price. i worked in a chemical plant for 10 yrs and we used recycled drums for our treated waste streams, products we made ( only used new virgin drums on customer request ) and hazardous waste. no reason metal drums can't be recycled many times and reclaimed in a kettle or open hearth furnace for new steel when their time is up.
