Same here. Picked up my 2015 V6 earlier this year for a great price. Now, I’m thinking P1SC and keeping it for whenever I get a GT.

I am happy for you. Like you said in the video, temperature is important. The biggest concern is the ring end gap, not the strength of the motor. As the temperature increases with boost the ring end gap decreases and as long as the 2 ends of the piston ring don't come together, you're fine. E-85 does help in that respect because it burns cooler than gasoline. However, with water/methanol injection you could have a temperature problem. The intake was designed to move air, not fuel. It isn't that the methanol doesn't cool because it does. I like it and I use it because E-85 isn't available in my state. However, the problem of temperature could arise because the water/methanol might not be equally distributed to each cylinder due to the design of the intake. I never thought about that until I saw a video on Engine Masters that set up an experiment to determine whether or not you could substitute methanol injection for an intercooler. The problem the experimenters had was with equal distribution of methanol to each cylinder. Like you, I am having problems with traction. The sidewall on one of my Nitto 555Rs broke and my tire is ruined. I replaced the Nittos with M&H Racemaster drag radials and I'll let you know how I make out with them. I tried them on the street and they're much stickier than the Nittos. I am going to the dragstrip tomorrow to see how the new tires affect my ET. What are you using for tires since you decided not to use drag radials at the track? With good tires you should be able to run mid 7 eighth miles. That should put you well into the 11s in the quarter mile. I know the summer tires you were using won't cut it.
@Doomsday4105 жыл бұрын
Hu 3.7 Still on the fence on what direction I want to go with wheels and tires. Can’t decide and they’re expensive 😂
@hu3.7895 жыл бұрын
The drag radials you have were expensive and so were the wheels. What I think it comes down to is whether you're interested in traction or appearance when it comes to cost. If you're interested in traction, buy the smallest wheel and a good tire. There was no way I would match the wheel with the tire because my car had the Performance Package with 19" wheels. There are few choices when it comes to 19" drag radials and the wheels are too expensive. If I had to do it all over again, I would have bought 15" wheels rather than the 17s I have now. If you can get the tire to wrinkle on the take off, it is less of a shock to the drive train and you're less likely to get wheel spin and/or wheel hop. The other thing I found is that the compound of the tire is more important than tire width. If you want to go with a bias ply tire, you can go with the Mickey Thompson ET street R or M&H Racemaster drag tire. The Mickeys can be purchased for around $200 each and the M&Hs for around $250 a piece. The wheels I wouldn't spend much money on. The lack of a good tire is costing you about .4 seconds in the quarter mile.

Hu 3.7 I’ve found building a car to be a lot like putting a puzzle together. The difference is that if you pick the wrong piece on a car build it costs a lot of money 😆
@hu3.7895 жыл бұрын
You get no argument from me on that. I added some things that I wasn't happy with. The worst thing is having something added to your car and later having to pay again to get your car back to the same way it was before.

Marquis Morning you’re right, money talks but I wouldn’t take a stock V8 and definitely not a 4 cylinder over a procharged V6.

Great information again Mike. My 2014 3.7 is down for a bit. Went to to a tune update. In the process of loading the "stock" procharger tune, my pcm has been fried. Car is non running. The tune must have been corrupted. Been dealing with sct for a week now. I will contact them this Thursday so tech can try a couple more things, but I will probably end up sending my pcm back to them for a reflash. Been frustrating as heck. You ever had issues like that before with your tuning device?
@Doomsday4105 жыл бұрын
divemaster 03 Man that sucks bad! Sorry to hear it. I had an issue right before this retune with my SCT. It said it needed an update but then it kept failing. Luckily I was able to leave the old software on it and still load my tune. SCT wanted to charge me like 100 bucks or something to fix it. I was like no way. Your update is jacked up that’s not my fault. Let me know how it goes. Hope you have her up and running again soon 🤞
@dhsw418005 жыл бұрын
Great job. Looking forward to your 11 sec runs and maybe 10s in the 1/4. Who knows? I’m seriously thinking about retuning with e85. How do you prep for the switch over in fuel? I have the 93 MPT procharger tune in place. I assume I can’t drive on that tune with any e85 fuel in there.
@Doomsday4105 жыл бұрын
dhsw41800 I’m assuming if you have the MPT procharger tune then you already have 65lb injectors. All you’d need now is a DW400 fuel pump to replace the stock one and a retune. If you keep the same pulley in place you can actually switch back and forth between your 93 tune and your e85 tune assuming you run the fuel down to 0 miles first before switching.
@dhsw418005 жыл бұрын
I have the injectors, fuel pump, and 3.7 pulley. Following your past videos, you’ve gotten 11-12psi with e85. I’ve only seen a little over 9psi. No dyno, so I don’t know what kinda power it’s putting down.
@EarthguardSeeker5 жыл бұрын
Sweet ride, what time do you run on the 1/4 mile?
@Doomsday4105 жыл бұрын
Esai Cruz Thanks man. Last time was a 12.6 @110. But that was on street tires and some crap springs. I’ve changed my suspension up since and added more boost. Should run high 11’s if I can get the wheel hop to stop.

So I have a 14 mustang V6. I’m going to get a ProCharger but I heard MPT tunes them well. I know you have to do data logging but I’m a little worried that something can happen during that time. Is it something to really sweat about during data logging? Also do I need to get better fuel injectors and pump? Thanks
@Doomsday4104 жыл бұрын
Brian Lavinus The procharger kit comes with injectors but MPT requires larger 65lb injectors so you’d need them too. You’d only need an upgraded pump if you were wanting to run e85. I ran the stock pump with the procharger for a long time before I went e85. As far as data logging nothing to sweat. They’ll instruct you at each stage of the process on how far you can push the car. They’ll also cap the rpm in the beginning so you can’t go too high and break something before the tune is completely dialed in. Be sure to give them a lot of feedback through the data logging process. How it feels, throttle response, any weirdness, etc. That way you’ll get a tune that you love.

Doomsday410 thanks man this really helped me out. 👍🏼
@godlybrotherm30594 жыл бұрын
Can I get that kind of power with 93. Not a lot of e85 around my way.
@Doomsday4104 жыл бұрын
Marquis Morning The e85 has a cooling property which helps when you push the boost this high. I ran 12 psi on 93 octane and was probably in the 450-460 to the wheels range. I made 409 to the wheels on 93 at 8 psi. As a comparison a 2016 GT stock dynos around 370-380. A 2018 GT stock dynos around 410-420.
@godlybrotherm30594 жыл бұрын
Doomsday410 that’s a big difference in numbers. When you go e85 can you still use 93 and is it a lot of work to switch
@Doomsday4104 жыл бұрын
Marquis Morning You’d need a tune for 93 and one for e85. You can switch the tunes back and forth if you run the gas down to 0 miles to empty and then fill up with the other fuel and load the other tune. To run e85 you’d need upgraded fuel injectors and fuel pump.
@godlybrotherm30594 жыл бұрын

I’m about to purchase the e85 tune from MPT but I want to be clear on how to prepare for the switch from 93. I saw a video of Justin on American Muscle switching between 93 to e85 and he used a device to drain or suck all the 93 gas out (to include the fuel lines) before adding e85. Is that necessary? Even if I run my car down to zero and it shuts off, I assume there’s still a small amount of 93 left somewhere.
@Doomsday4104 жыл бұрын
dhsw41800 Assuming you’ve changed fuel pump/injectors already. All I did was run my car down to a mile to empty. Sat at gas station at idle until it flipped to 0 miles to empty. Then filled up with e85 and flashed the e85 tune in. The pump e85 is a minimum of 15% of regular gas anyway. That small amount left at 0 miles to empty isn’t going to bother anything.
@dhsw418004 жыл бұрын
Thanks much.
@dhsw418004 жыл бұрын
Still dialing in the E85 tune via data logs but boy does my car pulls like a mad bull. I’m on stock suspension and tires but I see the need for wider tires and springs. I’ve never done suspension upgrades like this before. Since my car is my daily driver, I’m concerned that lowering springs and wider tires may equal a harsh ride.
@Doomsday4104 жыл бұрын
dhsw41800 Congrats man! I know the switch to e85 put a huge smile on my face. Suspension changes really come down to your goals for the car. If you’re going to run from a stop either on the street or the strip they’re a must. Will you sacrifice some ride comfort? Yes I won’t lie to you. If you’re only into roll racing or highway pulls maybe you don’t do as much then. Enjoy my friend!
