I have a 2014 V6 mustang, I bought it a month ago. I can tell you simply by adding a roush cold air intake I honestly gave a V8 gt hell a week ago. I could only imagine what the outcome would've been if I added the super charger, tunes and a few upgrades. We were neck to neck for a quarter of a mile. If I were the guy in the gt i would seriously be asking myself " did I spend the extra money to be a fingernail faster when I simply could have purchased the monster V6?" Don't get me wrong, the gt was very fast but simply not fast enough to get away from my stock V6. With that said I'm super happy with my car, I only use Shell Vpower gasoline in my engine and it seems to keep it running extra clean and a lot faster. I do, however plan on doing the blueprint mentioned here. All V8's be aware! Ford built an affordable monster in the V6. Don't sleep on this car for one! And for two be cautious of the next V6 you pull up on because it could very well hand you a depressing 400+hp ass beating...

I had the installations done mainly because I was working and didn't have the time to do them. My mods and their cost including taxes are as follows: Procharger, installation, and custom tune $7,700. Total boost was a little less than 7 lbs on an otherwise stock Mustang V6. Horsepower and torque on a Mustang Dyno were 370 and 300 respectively. Mustang Dynos are load bearing and more conservative. For my car add 20-30 horsepower and torque to get Dynojet numbers. In addition, horsepower numbers are a little lower because my car is an automatic. 1/4 mile ETs were 13.0-13.2 at 106-108 mph depending on DA. I later added the following: Upgraded 4.1" pulley that came with the kit to 3.85". Boost increased by 2.5 lbs to 9.3 lbs. Added water/methanol system and updated tune. Total cost for both pulley and water/methanol upgrades $2,300. Horsepower and torque on a Mustang Dyno are 420 and 335 respectively. Installed Circle D 3400 stall torque converter. Costs include torque converter, labor, transmission tune, and other related charges $2,200. Wheels and tires $750. Replaced entire exhaust system $1,600. The cats burned out with the increased boost mainly due to the exhaust system being too small. The 2-1/4" catback was replaced with 2-1/2" resulting in 25% more flow. The stock cats were replaced with replacement cats for a 2010 Shelby. The X-pipe was replaced with an H-pipe. 1/4 mile ETs are 12.2-12.5 at 111-114 mph depending on DA. The total cost for the mods are $14,450. As stated in the video, modding is not cheap. My gas mileage remained about the same except for a small drop in city driving. On the highway, I still get about 26 mpg. I might change the stock 3.31 gears to 3.90. This should drop the ETs another .2 seconds. That will reduce my gas mileage on the highway by 15 to 20%.
@Doomsday4105 жыл бұрын
Hu 3.7 Yeah the Mustang dynos are the “heartbreakers”. My original 8psi set up hit 409hp 352tq on one. This is why everyone goes the dynojet route lol. One thing is for sure. It’s not cheap to go fast!
@hu3.7895 жыл бұрын
The tuner I work with told me that it's easier to get the tune right with the Mustang Dyno. He uses the load bearing Dyno to simulate different driving conditions and wind resistance as the car accelerates. As far as the cost goes, it gets more expensive because not all mods work and you're more likely to break stuff with more horsepower.

Yeah, man, if somebody ain't got $8,000. For that you could do The N/A combination with nitrous Is a great option, too. And it's cheaper. You could have 500 horsepower out of your V6 with nitrous for probably closer to 5 Grand And depending on the bolt ons you do. It's only going to take between 100 to a 200 shot of nitrous with E85 With the normal bolt ons that most people do for any car. And what's awesome about Mustang and Ford they sell all their aftermarket parts, so they design and build these race parts they race with them and win and then they sell them to the public. Over the years with just Roush Performance alone, and there's way more tuners of the Mustang they won over 30 National and World titles in racing and then they sell those racing parts to us. So even though They quit selling the Cyclone V6 You can still upgrade anything On the car because the S550 chassis It's still in production Eventually will dry up. But as of now You can still pick up Cyclone V6 4 pretty freaking cheap. For the performance and durability you get out of the engine. And a lot of times depending on the dealer You can still keep your warranty if the dealer puts on. Once they are the parts that are from Ford performance. Don't get me wrong just like the supercharger you're going to have to do support modifications like injectors a bottle warmer Boost controller like there's a few little things. But even with buying the bottle and filling it up with the nitrous. You're only in at like $3,200 for all of that stuff. And then another $2,000 for the basic bolt ons like your intake tune headers exhaust. another nice thing is unless you're on the bottle hitting the nitrous it will not mess with your PG so you can drive around at 24 or 26 And if somebody rolls up next to you And wants to run them Then you click the button And there you go. and if somebody was willing to put that $8,000 like a procharger or a good turbo setup cost into a V6 Mustang they could have a fully forged engine. Full bolt on meaning Everything that literally bolts onto the engine. Heads and cam or at least some head work And essentially run, however much nitrous you want. I would really recommend if somebody is interested at all in nitrous Or trying to make your Mustang faster to look up real Street performance. They have a whole video on running nitrous and everything. You need to run nitrous And their shop runs like a two thousand horsepower Supra. So they definitely know what they're talking about, LOL. But yeah for the same price as a procharger kit and installation was supporting mods you could have A V6 engine You don't have to worry about blowing up have a very nice and manageable at around 400 + wheel and then when you want to race click the button and you're pushing well over 700 wheel with a 300 shot And without all the extra weight A procharger kit brings.
@Doomsday4104 жыл бұрын
Ezekiel Vasquez For sure there’s more than one way to skin a cat and everyone has their own preference. This was just a blueprint of the path I’ve taken due to many requests. That being said I have little concern over blowing anything up. There’s plenty of guys running more boost than me with factory sealed engines doing nothing but drag racing the cars. Consistently running low 10’s too. This kit puts no strain on the engine driving around town. Boost doesn’t kick in until about 3500 rpm and climbs with the rpm. I’ve got well over 20k miles on the procharger and have had 0 issues with it. Appreciate the comment and your perspective! 🤘

Great information shared here. Something to note is that a good dyno tune is gonna run about $600-$700. My tuner switched my procharged S197 over to HP Tuners from SCT and the car is sooo much happier for it. Also, if you want to go E85 I highly recommend 90 lb/hr injectors from DW and a boost-a-pump. The JMS Powermax is plug and play. My car ran out of fuel after 5800RPM even with the bigger injectors and DW fuel pump. Once I added the JMS Powermax the problem was solved and it made 471 to the rear wheels with only 8lbs.
@Doomsday4105 жыл бұрын
SRS197 ! I went dyno tune initially with a shop that’s been building cars for 30 years. I wasn’t happy with the performance. I’ve been running e85 for a year solid now with DW65lb and DW400 fuel pump. Making 14 psi now with a 3.40 pulley. You’re running a P1SC?
@srs19725 жыл бұрын
Doomsday410, yes, P1SC. Running long tube headers, catted x-pipe, and borla s-type catback. Also running larger throttle body and colder spark plugs. I tried the remote tune route and the car seemed to do OK at wide open throttle, but idled poorly and seemed to stumble just cruising in 3rd and 4th. I got tired of data logging and sending things in. The tuner I took the car to said he wasn’t surprised with SCT and flipped it to HP. I took it back to him when I went E85 and the car runs amazing. Happy to share the dyno results without the boost-a-pump with anyone that wants to see them. With you running that much boost I wouldn’t be surprised to see your car make 500+ rwhp as long as the fuel delivery can keep up :).

I think the big difference for me is when you're on an auto circuit track the V6 and EcoBoost are so much more fun to drive then the GT because you can stay on throttle more and break less. The GT is a great quarter mile and light to light car. But the almost 200 lb difference up front it's a lot when you're trying to get around a short circuit class race course. I was getting maybe 14mpg on e85. e85 gets about 30% less mileage but is cheaper. More trips to the gas station can be a pain but it was worth it for the cooling factor and engine longevity. Purely from a maintenance perspective the procharger wins in my book. Change the procharger oil every 6k, swap in a new belt occasionally and keep your bolts tight. That’s about it. For max effort all out power though? A turbo wins.

Respect!!! Loved the video you help me come to my conclusion I’m going V6 instead of Procharger I’m going single or twin turbo from jmp since I’m in Texas and they not too far from me. Seen one do 10.1 in the quarter at 134mph and I was impressed!!! Thanks again

Can’t go wrong with a turbo. I’ve driven a V6 with twins and it was impressive.

Real talk👍 Your car is awesome, I'm currently building my v6 as well. Doing everything else first, suspension, thermostat, possibly upgrading the radiator, fuel pump & all that good stuff. I am however considering going turbo, anyways love your build brother. Keep the videos coming. 👌🇺🇸

I do have questions, when you bought the V6 Mustang, was your original intention to modify it? MeAndMineTv had a 5th Gen track edition V6 Camaro (and upgraded to the 1LE ZL1 Supercharged V8 later). Did you had any shock, suspension, and braking upgrades? Is your ECU tuned (I heard the 2017 V6 Mustang top speed is 113 mph, about 142 mph with the limiter off. Ford reasons it wears the weaker driveshaft). My last question since insurance is cheaper for a V6, does it justify the price 4 to 5 years down the road. Regular person will buy an new non V8 Mustang (4 cylinder Ecoboost) because it already shares the similar aesthetics as the 5.0, majority of owners will use regular unleaded, and maintenance is lower, is your maintenance higher on your tuned V6?

Yeesack Films Because I had no intention of boosting this car when I bought it. After it was already purchase it was much cheaper to work with what I had vs trading in and being upside down in payments. Besides a GT dynos around 380. This car dynod at over 500 to the wheels. At this point I’d be getting a slower car to have a 5.0 badge.

Bradley Rob Sauceda Head to the channel. Have several track vids and a dyno vid up. 502hp/426tq to the wheels SAE corrected.
