One point I'd like to make is that if the patient works at a chemical plant the workers should have an idea of what they are moving. In probably a very rare situation my ex's brother was moving boxes + cans of items from the delivery truck to the business when the kid came off a large pail of powder + some powder blew into his eyes. His workmates, trying to be helpful, did what first came to them- to flush his eyes with water. They did that but it turned out that the powder was cement + the water activated it. Unfortunately he was left totally blind. If they had of checked what the powder was before intervening he could have been spared the tragic outcome.

Good suggestion for a cup over the eye for protection. The reminder that both eyes work together, was a good reminder.

Also, remember to remove contact lenses in such situations as chemicals can seep under the lens and stay infected in that area.

Yeah, they forgot about that.

Yes you can do that or in school labs when working with chemicals always follow teacher's instructions remember they have been trained to handle things like that and those classrooms have the emergency shower and eyewash station for problems like that then of course follow teacher's instructions on what to do next if your in school

I tripped and fell on my face (left eyebrow) when 30 weeks pregnant. Lesson: do not blow your nose after eye socket trauma. (The baby and I are both fine and I don't have much lasting double vision)

First rule, NEVER, I repeat!! NEVER EVER Take your safety glasses off in a workshop for any reason, One thing I also know is that eyes are the most sensitive part of the body like if it were a bone fracture kinda.
