There is to much of everything everywhere on the word wide web and to make good stuff one have to be unique, simply just being 100% yourself. I think this is completely normal that when a big producer is asked to review beats, they always have something to say. If I told Ocean to review my beats, he would sincerely find something to comment Ocean has made beats way better, songs far professional etc. but Timbaland has to critique...

Respect to Timbaland, but let's be real, analogue synths and hardware is trash compared to DSP. And Logic really is the best DAW. I've tried Cubase, FL, Ableton Live, Studio One 5, Mixcraft. Nothing competes. Pro tools is also trash. Logic has the best and easiest UI. Go to any studio around the world and in most cases Logic is the primary DAW for production, mixing and mastering. And for an analogue vibe/feel to synths or drums, that can easily be achieved using Digital plugins. I said what I said 😏

Do you think that part of this is that you and Timbaland have very different styles? I’m surprised at the selection you played him vs the other beats you’ve put up on your videos in the past that I think would have resonated with him more.

It's all a matter of opinion. Timbaland can say "oh you need to keep it simple" but then go listen to his beat from "Ayo Technology" 50 Cent Feat. Justin Timberlake. It's like, he's critiquing because he's supposed to. Because if someone like Metro Boomin played him these exact beats he would be nodding his head like crazy saying how fire they are. Of course, it's Timbaland and his opinion is very valued in the field. But like I said he has to critique because Ocean is up and coming and he's a legend, I get it. But like I said if an established mainstream famous producer played these same beats he'd be singing their praises. So it's hard for me to really value his opinion too much.
@logicalblackman82283 ай бұрын
This is cat. He has plenty of other videos where he is going crazy to various These beats just weren’t good. The AO technology beat is fire. You can pull up the instrumental here on YT. It starts off, kind of whatever, with that cinematic pad or whatever. Obviously, the vocals sounds better because Five is doing an intro But when the pitched snares come in, it’s a wrap. And when the main beat drops, all I was doing was stank face😂 Not to mention, you arw comparing a beat that is at least 16 years old lol.

I know Tim doesn't like anything that isn't his, unless it's a rare day, but I do agree with some of the stuff he said. The last beat was definitely the best of the batch. I liked the cinematic drill beat too. If I'm being honest, though, there's a lot of beats that sound extremely similar. The beat game is over saturated with cool beats, but they don't have an original sound. Back when Tim was making hits, he had a sound. A lot of it probably has to do with everyone using the same drums, and plugins, in current times. If people started to mess with sound design, and made sounds that never existed before, it would take the staleness out of hip hop.

That’s the only thing that bothers me about his critique here. Throwing shade at DAW is crazy. Daw’s are just a foundation for a creator to build what they hear.
@DJAUDIO1 Жыл бұрын
@@billybarrett272 Exactly. Create heat, regardless of DAW. I see this in the DJ world, where DJs are always bickering over the superior DJ application, be it Serato, Rekordbox, Virtual DJ, Traktor, Algoriddim. The average person listening to music doesn't care which DAW a song was created in or what DJ application it was played thru, They just want to hear their favorite songs. Use what works best for you and keep it moving. Too much gatekeeping going on these days.

4 realz. You can make a beat on anything, using anything, tables, spoons, cups trash cans, hell use your dam voice, jus use your imagination and have fun. I'm still banging out tracks on Logic pro 9. I only use it as a daw, if have external gear fo dat ass also. And my iPad with mo software. Bottom line, never let anyone tell you what not to do, real musicians play from the heart and if people feel it they feel it. Timbo is dope! But I don't like everything he puts out either. Yah-dah...

As a person who uses Ableton, Logic, and Protools. Ableton feels more conducive to what Timbaland is saying. His creativeness and experimentation flows well in a DAW like Ableton. Many Ableton users are the epitome of “let’s try this.” “I wonder what this will do.” Until they find something they like. Where I musicians have an easier time in Logic.
