The parable of The Prodegal Son (or, more correctly, The Two Sons) is told by Christ to explain God's love to the Scribes and Pharisees. It tells the story of a loving father who has two sons. The youngest is a non-religious sinner that wants to get as far away from his father as he can. The elder son is a religious sinner who stays as close to the father as he can - but without getting saved. And the father is the perfect picture of our loving Father in heaven who loves us more than anything...
