A great show Randy, the best christmas present of the season it also showed there's a lot more to being a top bowler than throwing strikes. Last but not least congratulations to the runaway winner and a happy holiday to one and all.

That third game of the Total Pins match, I thought Christian was gonna say, "can you explain the definition of insanity?" Hey, "Unofficial, Informal, and Impromptu" works just as effectively! Merry Christmas, coach and all prodigy bowlers!

Great show also a question that I’m pretty sure you’ll know...how often does the average bowling alley like a Brunswick zone replace its pins
@ProdigyBowlersTour7 жыл бұрын
It depends on the bowling center and what their budget is. I believe back when BZ Roswell was owned by Brunswick, they used to replace the pins once a year. Now that Bowlmor AMF owns it, I think they've cut back to about once every two years.
@defupa7 жыл бұрын
So I’m assuming buying new pins is a pretty hefty cost😂
@ProdigyBowlersTour7 жыл бұрын
I would guess so. Especially for larger bowling centers.
@haileykroeger66177 жыл бұрын
What are both of their averages? im wondering because mine is around the 160 range
@ProdigyBowlersTour7 жыл бұрын
Well, the averages I will be quoting here are league averages...bowled on the house shot. Christian's is 194. Charlie's is 221 as of the latest league sheet I can access from here. I think they've bowled one more week since this league sheet was published.
@haileykroeger66177 жыл бұрын
They are amazing bowlers.

Hello Randy, could you give me any tips on how to shoot consistently at the 10 pin? It would be appreciated. Thank you, and I use a spare ball for the 10.
@ProdigyBowlersTour7 жыл бұрын
Stand as far left as you can get. Weaken your wrist and come up the back of the ball (not around the side). You'll likely target somewhere around the 4th or 5th arrow, depending on how far left you are.
@evans80147 жыл бұрын
What about the 3rd arrow? Does that work too? I already stand far left maybe between 3rd and 4th?
@ProdigyBowlersTour7 жыл бұрын
Evan S - The farther left you can get, the more you open up the lane and take the gutter out of play.

Thank you Randy! Merry Christmas

bowled my best game ever (back in the day) with a Blue Angle (AMF) Urethane ball. I am curious to know which Urethane ball Charlie was using in this episode. Are the urethane balls made now very different from those 1st generation urethane balls?

Is it supposed to be 12-24 or 12-14
@ProdigyBowlersTour7 жыл бұрын
12/14 is the date it was filmed. 12/24 is the date it was posted to KZbin. But I always date these shows by the date they were recorded. This one was actually released a little out of sequence because I wanted to release it for Christmas.
@jab694207 жыл бұрын

@steveniemyer92887 жыл бұрын
In the first game Christian should have thrown a gutter ball while Charlie was working on a strike. Then gifted it.
@ProdigyBowlersTour7 жыл бұрын
Steve Niemyer - Wouldn’t have done any good on a strike, unless he was working on a double. You do that when they’re on a spare.
@johnvoorhees7357 жыл бұрын
hey coach randy can I come up and do prodigy some time please
@ProdigyBowlersTour7 жыл бұрын
If you are a youth bowler (not yet 20 years of age as of August 1st of the current bowling season), then yes, you are welcome to come bowl with us. Unless you're already 18 years of age, you'll need to bring a parent or legal guardian so they can sign a release to grant me permission to film their minor child and post it on KZbin.
@johnvoorhees7357 жыл бұрын
and yes I am a youth bowler

@Ben-jz3mt7 жыл бұрын
The only drawback about being early is that you have to wait for 1080p. Worth it.
@ProdigyBowlersTour7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, and I don't know why that is. It leaves here as 1080p. But when KZbin "processes" it, I guess they must deconstruct it, and when the video is fairly long (like this one), it takes a little while even after it becomes viewable for all the various resolutions to become available to the audience. You'd have to ask Google why that is.
@Ben-jz3mt7 жыл бұрын
Even worse than that, the video gets compressed, making it look not quite as sharp as it really is

Coach Randy...Do you do any actual coaching ( i.e. mechanics, adjustments, etc.) during the recorded play, or are the kids on their own?

I’m usually too busy filming or running the event to coach much during the recording of PBT.
@dmking123707 жыл бұрын
I have three questions for you. First, we know that Logan and Charlie got their coveted 300 games (which you covered in prior episodes). Has Christian gotten there yet? Second, has anybody in your regular Saturday morning junior league ever gotten a 300 in regular league play yet? Finally, is there any plan in the works to reward a Prodigy bowler who shoots a regular 300 during the show (and would it be possible for such a game to be sanctioned somehow)? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Akron, Ohio (once again the home of the PBA Tournament of Champions).
@ProdigyBowlersTour7 жыл бұрын
1. No, Christian has not yet shot 300, either in practice or sanctioned competition. 2. There has never been a 300 game bowled in the Saturday morning youth leagues at Brunswick Zone Roswell for as long as the center has been opened (it opened in the '80s). Last season, in the very first game of the very first day of the bowling season, Mikey shot 299 (4 pin). It was the highest game ever bowled in the BZ Roswell youth program. One other BZ Roswell youth shot 299 in sanctioned competition, but it was at a tournament at another center. 3. Haven't given it much thought. Maybe I should.
