Everyone complains about MIM parts in 2011, but they don't complain about the same MIM parts being used on Glocks, Sigs, etc. There's absolutely nothing wrong with MIM parts, they're 95% just as strong as metal. IMO, if a MIM part goes wrong, breaks, etc then replace it with EGW or Extreme Engineering. My gunsmith did a complete trigger job, tuned the extractor, polished and revamped the feed ramp, also, tuned the entire firearm and I have yet to experience "ANY" reliability issues or cause for concerns. If and when any part breaks or malfunctions, then I will change for "better" parts...

This particular Prodigy/SA product was my first introduction into the "2011" world. As stated in the video I'm no expert, I saw an amazing opportunity with this platform and wanted to make it unique without breaking the bank. I can't say enough about the quality of work, and the constant communication. I notified Scott last week that it was running perfectly...yet I received a call today to follow up if I had more rounds through it and any issues. I appreciate that, he had no reason to call. Quick comment, it's running with zero issues! Thanks Scott. We will do business again. BTW if anyone wants to reach out directly to me so I can further explain, I'm here. I’d not be surprised, since they offer the Springfield Hellcat as well as Glocks in addition to Berettas - if Langdon Tactical gets into performance tuned Prodigy guns Seems there’s a good business opportunity for tuning this platform

I love my Prodigy’s they are great beaters. Keeps my Sand Viper and my Staccato XC in good shape. The Hex optics are garbage. I put an SRO on one and an ACRO P2 on the other.

Buy the one without red dot, take it to your gunsmith for some shaving and trigger adjustment, and this gun will run real good. Don’t expect to be staccato. I did every possible upgrade from EGW plus I ported to v8 . I spend $1100 extra and it doesn’t shoot like a staccato. Get yourself LFA APOLLO 11 for $1000 if you entering 2011 world spent $300 for some upgrades and you going to love it

When you spend enough money upgrading you Prodigy to the point its getting in staccto price territory then why not just get a Bul or Staccato ?

Hey I was thinking about getting some work done on my prodigy and you’re Channel is spot on. I like the way you explain everything step by step. It’s appreciated. I have a question if that’s ok. You said that you put an 8lb recoil spring in this prodigy. Wouldn’t that be too weak to properly push the slide back when cycling? What lb mainspring did you change it to in the egw internals kit?

no shade because you're making these guns better but I've been seeing DPO Staccato going for $1900-2100.. which is a few hundo more than the new Prodigy.. unless you can them them for $1200ish, seems like folk should just save up another month or two for a US made solution :D

I bought the parts from Ben Stoeger’s website and brought them to my local gunsmith. For less than $500 in parts and labor I’ve now got something I wouldn’t trade for any stock Stacatto out there, including the two that are over four grand.

@@TheLifeofRon it's his opinion. I have watched him shoot at least 5 different of Wide Body 1911 brands and a bunch of Staccatos. I would say it's an honest and reliable opinion vs a Fresh out the box Staccato P. I'm a fan of the platform but I've only shot 1 Wide Body and that an MPA DS9 so I have to take people's word on what everything else is like.

Okay Skip on the buffer , small plastic part, can you run it if one removes it from gun , always had problems with them when I used them in a 1911 ?

Yes. MIM parts can stick to polymer striker fired guns.. good for you, but a DS 1911 can shut the front door when it comes to internals. Thanks to EGW, gut the crappy Mims and get her done. I love my Staccato P among my 1911s like WC and Dan Wesson. CZ also say stfu to mim part lovers. It's all about real steel. Even some titanium hookups.

@@skipsguns1087couldn’t agree more. I was lucky enough to find a Prodigy with a Holosun 507c on top for $1500 here recently and snatched it up, spent less than $500 on parts and labor and now have a Limited Optics rig that I’ll put up next to any of them at double the price.

After the price of this ,optics ,internals,trigger and porting you could have had a staccato that already has all of this done besides the optic.Lol people kill me. It would be a different story if the prodigy didn't come defective from the factory.You almost have to upgrade all the parts so it works.! Hole in the water.
