There's a tonality to sonnox products that is hard to pin point, but it retains the neutral sound of the original.

The Envolution is awesome. I have it on the UAD platform. I particularly like controlling the EQ of the attack and sustain with the Tilt EQ. It allows some very creative choices. I have even used it on some percussive acoustic guitar stabs. Fantastic tool but you have to be careful 'cos even too much sounds great :-)

Thanks for this great walk through! Envolution is amazing. Its been a bit but I fired it up today working for an hour or so on getting a kick right with it and those transient controls like attack, release and hold give you craaaaazy control. Esp. When paired with warm and mix. I bought this plugin before we had kids and wouldnt have the spending $ now so im so glad i snagged it! 😂

Envolution still seems like a compressor, it just lets you do the opposite of a compressor also, but being able to make the transient less punchy.
