Just curious about the flip-frame transitions? They usually suggest a scene change. A regular camera change (which looks like a hard cut) would be more natural for an interview.

Yes, these out of context transitions are extremely distracting, to the point of spoiling an otherwise first class conversation.... as they usually are, thumbs up guys, keep up the good work! ❤

Finally, the first producer I have heard so far , taking placement! of the speakers as the most crucial part of your setup. I can't state enough how much milimeters can drastically change the response of the speaker. You need to find that magic first. I can do it in a few hours now. But that is simply because I love to do it. When the room starts to 'sway' with the stereo image your getting in the zone. So careful movements, and sometimes back and forth to get it right. That's where you learn to listen for those tiny phase issues. Especially in the range of high mids and above. I use the Sheffield Coustic Test CD , as I'm used to it now, to experiment and get better at it.

You guys mentioned super briefly, but it could be another video, how do you guys deal with those moments when you know the mix is right but the client isn’t happy. How do you guys deal with those moments where the changes kind of would change the mix a lot to a place where you wouldn’t be happy, and how do you move on from that? From critiques that aren’t constructive?

Tokyo Dawn's Nova has been doing everything that Soothe does for years. You constantly hear about Fab Filter, Waves and other popular plugin manufacturers and yet hardly hear about Tokyo Dawn's superb suite of processors. They really are superb!
@oleksandrpozniak
@oleksandrpozniak 2 жыл бұрын
As soon as your total delay goes more than the limit in your settings it stops to compensate and moves the print forward. But this is always the case with Master prints since we all have tons of processing on the mix bus. But higher SR decreases latency. 44.1k is 2x latency from 88.2 and 4x from 176.4

Hi Mark Re: the sample accuracy of the stems vs the master analogue print, my understanding is HDX solves this problem. I might be wrong but I believe when you're running pro tools ultimate natively there's always going to be some sample delay without the HDX card installed. Maybe i'm wrong but have a feeling HDX solves this issue when mixing and printing.
@Producelikeapro
@Producelikeapro 2 жыл бұрын
The new hybrid system does both, the HDX for tracking and Native for mixing
@balladboy6644
@balladboy6644 2 жыл бұрын
@@Producelikeapro Absolutely, it's a brilliant idea, but you need an hdx card, I'm not sure if Daniel was originally on a Native card hence the issue with the latency.

@@balladboy6644 Good to know and makes sense. Its a weird quickly thing i cant get my head around but should maybe just try with a HDX card and see if it sticks then. Thank you for the heads up.
@pupkid8613
@pupkid8613 2 жыл бұрын
@@marcdanielnelson317 last year I moved from HD Native Thunderbolt to a single HDX card in an Avid TB chassis with the new hybrid mode and it's great - also seems to be much more efficient - my sessions run 20-30% more efficiently with HDX hybrid. Worth it for that alone but hopefully it will sort your stem latency issues too....

Re; the Mac questions, The Mac studio is very powerful but bear in mind, it's not upgradable, everything is soldered to the motherboard except for the SSD. If anything goes wrong with that expensive piece of metal, the whole motherboard (logic board) will need replacing unless Louis Rossman can fix an individual chip on that board for you. The Mac Studio will need to stand the test of time for me. Bear in mind, your Mac Pro 2019 cheese grater is fully upgradable and has more space for air to flow between components which = greater reliability. The Studio is going to need to be cleaned out every few years (like you would any computer) due to dust accumulation, and it's not the most straightforward computer to dis-assemble. In contrast, you can simpy lift the lid off the top of a Mac Pro 2019. I think the clue is in the name "Pro". It's a professional workstation computer. The studio is aimed at the mid level enthusiast market. Not the same as the Pro market. Every year there will be a new "M" branded chip, it's going the way of the iphone. A new model every year. Personally i'm exctied for the new "M" arm based chip Mac Pro, that machine is going to be unreal, lets just hope it's upgradable. I get what you mean about the space the 2019 cheese grater takes up. It's something else to consider with studio spaces getting smaller.
@Producelikeapro
@Producelikeapro 2 жыл бұрын
It’s a 2009 Cheesegrater and I’ve never had to have it cleaned internally in 13 years, so I’m not obviously concerned about dust issues with the new computer, also being much faster and more powerful not worried about needing to upgrade for many years either. Thanks
@balladboy6644
@balladboy6644 2 жыл бұрын
@@Producelikeapro The cheesegrater is large and has a lot more space for air to circulate, so dust wont be such an issue as it will for smaller computers with limoited cooling and air flow potential. The iMac is another such example that can overheat very quickly dependant on use. Absoutley agree with you though, I suspect those mac studios are great, a huge initial outlay of course, but all new stuff seems to cost a lot these days with inflation e.t.c. Will be great to see how you get on with them!
