Took a huge risk by mixing a score for a big project recently with this plug in and honestly it was such a pleasure to use! Not to mention it translated very well across different sources. I still checked the final mixes on my studio monitors but quite honestly I didn't have to make many changes at all, this did the job fantastically. Great job Waves!!

FOR HEADPHONE USERS - - for achieving that abbey road acoustically treated environment mix - - which is a great sounding environment btw. I'd say its remarkable as an instrument and would love to see others (acoustically treated environments ) come along.

Awesome software it makes a difference in the mix. Headphones can fool you for sure, so no matter how expensive you have headphones, it won't help you. You need ambience, good studio room and this plugin can help you with that.

For people asking why would you use this plugin if you're mixing on headphones just to eliminate the room tone, here's the answer. From what I see this plugin adds virtual room surrounding/ambience to your mix, for example like what Sonarworks Reference does, but instead of making it completely flat it stays true to Abbey Road Studio's room frequency. This plugin is created, imo, to mostly be used on master bus. If you're using Sonarworks to get flat response, use this plugin after that in series (SW will flatten the frequency of your headphones and S3 will add specific room tone) *THIS IS SPECIFICALLY A PLUGIN ONLY MEANT FOR HEADPHONE USERS*

I thought studio 2 was where the Beatles recorded a lot of their classic hits, you should of done a simulation of all the studios in Abbey Road just for the love of such a legendary studio. Or am I missing the point? I never master any music using my headphones, but I do like to listen to a track during the mastering process on headphones just to get an idea of how it's going.

Studio 2 is known for all the classic recordings made there - but Studio 3 is Abbey Road’s preferred *mixing* room for most projects.

It's a plug-in toy. In my opinion, it doesn't help to have a better mix. But I'm curious to listen to any project done on it.

It really works. It can be massively helpful if you haven’t got the best room for your monitors etc.. is it the same as actually being sat in studio 3? I can’t say, never been but I’d guess not. But is it a very helpful tool for mixing on headphones? Yeah, it is. That’s what matters.

My headphones Yamaha MT-8 aren't supported. The plugin is no use to me. I'm saying that as a Waves Plugins fan. More headphones need to be calibrated to the plugin.

You can definitely use the plugin with your Yamahas (and with all other headphones) to get a spatial 3D effect that can help you better predict how your headphone mixes will translate to speaker. That’s the main point of this plugin, and it doesn’t depend on eq curve calibration. The eq calibration is just a further benefit that’s available for some headphones. But the main purpose of this plugin is to help you hear the sound like it’s coming from speakers in the Studio 3 control room.
