I think this mv is about keeping your dream/wishes alive? Dreaming for anything is free and you can be greedy about it, you can dream as big as you want. No matter your age, you can always have a dream, like shopping in a store that always open and never run out of things. To achieve your dream, keep trying for it, no matter if others will look down on you.

IU put out a behind-the-scenes video. She and her brother travelled to LA, did the two MVs back-to-back at a breakneck pace in a week. She admired American work culture, enjoyed repeating the new English phrase she learned 'Time Is Money!'

IU's voice and lyricism are on par with each other. My take away from the song is that our desires are our own. No one gets to tell us that they don't have value and that we are free to dream whatever dream we want and what is important to us is not invaladiated by the value others put on it. Also, so very happy to see her working with DPR IAN. He was in the MV, directed, and edited the MV. His music is always cinematic as are his MVs, recommend you check him out.

I really liked this one! It feels like I'm floating in a fun way. She released Shh Yesterday with Hyein from NJ and it is another banger of a song and so far, my favorite. I loved that IU collaborated with DPR Ian. He is awesome and his MVs are amazing.

Acting, story telling, movie like, MV's and at times telling the story over multiple songs are all apart of what IU does. This all starts with her very 1st MV for her debut song Lost Child. The MV was actually held back when the song wasn't received well by kpop fans in 2008. The song itself is great and showed off her vocal talents but the subject matter was not what kpop fans at the time were wanting from a 15 year old girl. The MV was released in 2011 after she gained National Popularity with 2 #1 songs, Good Day and Nagging, in 2010. Although the MV itself didn't really follow the story of the song. At 15 she didn't really have any say in the matter either. In 2011 she released the MV for her song You & I. The MV was 8 minutes longs and included the movie type credits and out takes. It was about time travel to get to a point where she and her Love interest could be together. She set the time machine's date to Dec 31st 2019. Eights into the future. In 2019, she was in total control of her music and the creative process since 2014, she released her album Love Poem which contained 2 songs that continued the You & I story. The 1st song was Above the Time which picks up on Dec 31st 2019. However, while they are both in the same time they are separated by Dimension. Although a brief gap in the space time continuum allows for then to be together briefly. The next song is Blueming. Where they now find themselves in the same time and Dimension but separated by a wall. There are several things in the Blueming MV that let you know that it is a continuation. And then in 2021 she released a single Strawberry Moon which is the final part of the story. So this story covered a decade in 4 songs. And there are others where she uses the same or similar prop and/or characters to communicate a similar message or situation cross multiple videos. BBIBBI (her only social commentary song and video about bullying, hateful social media comments and fans rude behavior and her song Coin, which aren't connected through a storyline but where she uses the same imagery of people in animal mask to convey the anonymity of hate commenters (in BBIBBI) and of critics in Coin. One of the most often reactors comments hear is one that goes something like, "this is the type of music I normally listen to, but...". This always confuses me. The first thing I think is, what music is that, good music? I find it strange that people limit there musical taste in such away. There isn't a genre that isn't represented in my music library, ok I don't have any opera in it, and much of the music in my library comes from accidental discovery. Not judging, ok maybe a little, but I hear people all the time say they don't generally like ballad's. In the broad definition of a ballad are most songs which are about something ballads? Aren't most of the Greatest rock songs ballad's? Blackout, about having too much fun at a party and Last Night Story concert performance. Through the Night and With a Determined Heart to Forget You, which is a remake of a famous Korean Folk singers song. By the way I love your reactions, while you, at least in relating to IU, don't always score high in catching most of the metaphors and symbolism (no IU beginner ever does) you do pick up on things that other miss, add humor and have invested in the MV's when you are watching. In expectation of seeing more IU reactions from you I am subscribing to your channel today. Thanks again for giving this truely special talent your consideration.

Appreciate the informative comments about her MVs. I love that she consistently has cinematic storytelling and narratives in her MVs, that makes it more interesting imo & shows off additional artistic talents. As far as people saying "this isn't the kind of music I typically listen to but" I can't speak for others as I am not sure the intention in which they said it (although people do have types of music they listen to more often than others and that's okay too- people like what they like and just because it's different than what we like doesn't make it wrong) but as for me, my musical interests span the vast majority of genres I've come across, as is typical for people who love music enough to make it their educational & career path; However, there are certain aspects of music that I tend to prefer over others irregardless of genre. For example one of these things is instrumentation heavy in low-end (bass, percussion, low singing etc.), which is obviously not present is most ballads meaning I'm going to like a ballad less often than say a metal song, because the ballad is going to have to wow me for a completely different reason, like IU's Love wins all did for example, because the style inherently has less total things I could like about the song. Appreciate you subscribing and yes hopefully I will get better at picking up her brand symbolism & storytelling lol.
