"Things will be better or it will be forgotten as time passes." It always takes me 10 reps of Chanyeol's rap in this to feel like I've watched it completely. Watching it again in 2020 makes me a bit sad with everything that has happened. Many won't understand why the level of dedication fans have in kpop is higher than for other musicians... It's hard to explain, but it's like you are part of a community that is working towards the same goal. It's also that many fans find support in the music itself, so there's like a mutual support system being built. When the members left, it felt like fans also lost friends that they were supporting. Even more, because you are a just a fan you don't really know the real reason why things happened. When they released Promise, it really comforted the fans because it made us feel like we were going through everything together. Of course, it isn't an individual to individual relationship, which is why it would be easy for fans to leave if they no longer get any joy from the support they give the group. But I do think we'll get through this period of time again with all of the members, it just needs a bit more time and some toxic fans will again be pruned.
