if you wanted to check out more of Little Mix in the studio, I found another video on the channel doesitmatter that was posted today. There’s a bit more footage of them actually in the recording booths and doing the sounds in the background alongside what was in the video you watched here. I did notice that there were a few instances in which they were all near the mic even if only one person was singing which seemed odd to me. It was interesting to hear your take👍

The one where they’re in the middle of the room recording, is just a writing sesh. they’re recording everything raw and messy, simply to record the flow Of their song, I’m guessing. Cause you wouldn’t waste a song writers time, to sit through the whole proper album recording.

For that last video, I’m pretty sure they were recording the Get Weird album. That album, like it’s title refers to, uses A LOT or weird or unorthodox sounds. So I would guess that they were using that mic in the center audibly manipulate the quality of the vocals, and take advantage of all that space to freestyle while recording. They have a couple of songs too, where they’re stepping on the track, or using an atmospheric “crowd sound,” which might be another explanation for its placement.

I like they record it in the same room, maybe it's not that clean but when you heard them live they can actually recreate those harmonies. Just hate when you listen artist live and you realize the studio version is so different and they can't sing their own song, this girls has tied vocals live and for me thats more important

since you've been reacting to some great pop artists like lady gaga and ariana grande, you should really go through some of madonna's stuff, she is a must, pop music as it is today only exists because of her I would recomend the holy trinity of pop: like a prayer ("as close to art as pop music gets" - rolling stone), ray of light (the album responsible for bringing electronic production to mainstream pop) and confessions on a dance floor (that one speaks for itself, you'll see)
