This wa ssoooo good. Honestly, I love all their albums a lot, I know I've said Astoria is my favorite sound-wise, but it's so hard to pick a favorite. Still, Ever After comes as a very close second but from a storytelling point of view, the way that album comes together is just beautiful to me (toy soldiers being my favorite, the character building in that song is exquisite). WHEN I HEARD the Ever After melody I think I lost it just as much as you did honestly, it took me entirely by surprise and i think it brought tears to my eyes. I loved how this album created such a story with all it's songs and all the songs themselves are so full of emotion. And once again, all the reprises to a normal life, there's something so beautiful to me about the lines "who's to say what makes a normal?" and "extra ordinary normal". It's so... Inspiring to me, I don't know. I loved this album so much and it is definitely high up there with the rest. Again I speak of favorites but I adore their whole discography and hold it very close to me regardless, any difference in faves is minimal lol I think my single gripe with this song is the final "murder on the eyes"... it felt a little underwhelming when I was expecting him to go high instead of low, but they're the musicians, not me so I'll trust their decision lol Sorry for yapping so much throughout all the videos, I think my mouth got loose more and more as the videos went on lol I probably have so much more to say but I can't remember even half of it, I'm still struggling to put everything I feel with every song into words. Thank you for making these! I really enjoying watching all of them and your thoughts on each song. I'm nowhere near a musician, so a lot of things might go over my head or i don't know terminology, but everything you say is always so interesting even if I cannot comprehend bits of it. Anyways RAAAAAHHH I LOVE MARIANAS TRENCH AND I LOVE HAVEN!!!!!

Wondering since it's been a few months if you've caught the instrumental section that has ties to Pirates of the Caribbean. I mention this because Josh said in the VIP Q&A I did that Hans Zimmer is one of his inspirations. I didn't notice it until after the Q&A, but after listening to Haven for the umpteenth time, I finally noticed bits of the Pirates of the Caribbean theme in Haven.

YES! So much of the melodic content he writes for the orchestral parts felt very Zimmer to me, but that's not the kind of thing I'd normally think to mention as I'm listening to it. Now I need to go watch Pirates of the Caribbean though, cause it's been a while since I last saw it
