This is merely a theory but the kid could be inspired from the movie/book 'The Perfume Murderer'. In the book (I haven't seen the movie at all so it'll prob differ), a little boy named Grenouille was a genius with his superior scent of smell. So, he was greedy with smelling scents (with hopes of preserving them as a perfumer) and he found an amazing scent coming from a girl in his town. Blinded by his greed, Grenouille actually murdered the girl with his bare hands just so he could smell her natural scent. According to the book, he was only 12 when he murdered the girl. So that'll probably explain the kid's role in the MV.

Oh yes, it reminded me the same book and maybe the "amazing scent" he found is in Eau de VIXX, wich is totally logic, and when the kid has a gun in his hand it also made me think that each of VIXX represents the child because they point with guns too. It's a really well-used theme actually, I've never imagined they could use that book for a comeback but It worked SO good.

According to N, they created the word Scentist as the combination of Scent and Artist. They've never mentioned this, but based on their teaser pics and such, we believes they got the concept inspiration from the novel (also adapted into a movie) "Perfume: The Story of A Murderer" and the little boy represents the younger self of the main character. If you've read the story or watched the movie, the lyrics are actually so much darker. Also, interesting how you mentioned that it reminds you of European old eras because the main character in the movie is one of 18th-century France's finest perfumers.

Maybe this will help you with the names you don't know. Ken appears clearly at 0:13 in the mv or 1:02 in your video. Hongbin appears at 0:29 in the mv and 1:18 in your video Hyuk (Maknae) comes in at 0:33in the mv and 1:22 in your video. I hope this helps, PD!

Aside from leader and vocal, N is the lead dancer of the group. Some of vixx the choreo have N touch on it. They have choreo teacher/team, but N also give some of his idea to create the choreo. For vixx stage performance, all the members take part of producing that but N really take big part of it. Like concert stage and so on.. N also went to dance school in japan before join the agency. He won so many national dance competition in korea. And i also heard that he got cast by big 3 agency(you know the name) after his famous dance perform on national competition. Well, a lot of people think it's based on Perfume the movie. The protagonist has a superhuman power of smell and he goes on a murderous quest to make the best prefume. He meets a character, referred to as the plum girl, who he accidentally murders while trying to get more of her scent.

I really like this angle! I also like the purple/pink lighting you have, it's very chill and nice to look at. One of my friends said "I keep reading Vixx' comeback as 'scientist'" & I was like.... is that not the name? Lol, I really like this comeback a lot, I don't think it's my fav but it's great, the sound is really nice & I can see myself putting it on repeat. The choreo is really nice (I like the clap in the chorus, it matches up great). I'm also looking forward to the live stages of this, and I'd love to see a stage mix after more are out. I couldn't say re: the meaning of the MV, but I think it's really really cool and I agree that they've kept the same "tone" of their more cheesy dark MVs, along with the improved style since Shangri-la. EDIT: ALSO I super agree about Ravi getting 2 rap segments, I think it really made the song feel complete.

The concept is about the book The perfume : story of a murderer. The boy represent the main character which name is Jean-Baptiste Grenouille. A boy without sent but who was gifted with a high sense of smell. When he was a child he killed a girl because of her body scent and became obsessed in creating a scent for his own body. He then understood that women (virgin) were the one with the exquisite and rare scent he was looking for. He killed 24 or 27 women to create the "perfect scent". He was supposed to be executed for having killed the king ' s daughter (or leader of the town he was in) but put the perfume on himself and was then seen as a god among the mortal.

You're talking about Ken, personally I think his vocal technique is better then Leo's so it's worth to check him out and form your own opinion. N has done modern ballet/dancing and he auditioned with blindfolded dancing (or did it as a trainee), also worth to check it out. There is also an mbc or kbs performance with a couple modern dance/ballet dancers in kpop (including twice and BTS jimin) which is also a great performance.

N - lead dancer he studied dance in his pre-debut days Hyuk - he has the reddish brown hair he's got a lot of lines in the album even singing high ranges along with Ken and Leo Hongbin - pale blue hair he's the visual and has a deep voice so usually he's the sub-vocals or secondary rapper and now he's getting a lot of lines to shine as well Ken - the fuckboy eyebrows - him and Ravi have cuts on their eyebrows that when put together spell VIXX - he's the cute main vocalist and he and Leo usually are trading off the high notes in other songs. He's got a fuller voice while Leo has that high airy voice and also backstage Ken is the joker of the group and BTS's Jimin's BFF I love that both Ken and Leo are singing in their lower ranges and that they also have a chance to rap showing that musical talent of theirs. I also love that the whole album gives me the feel of a musical especially how there are a lot of jazzy elements to them. The stages are rude and I think you will enjoy the choreo. The other song they are performing uses a chair dance as part of the mix.

I kinda liked Shang-ri La better, in a sense it clicked with me right away, while Scentist took me a couple listens (but its probably bc I happen to like their b-sides better this time around), and Shangri-La was lowkey my gateway to stanning Vixx, so... its sort of a first-love syndrome for me. Still a great song! Their B-sides are also great too, I can’t really remember their names, I think it was Odd Sense, Silence and Trigger that I thought was kinda better than Scentist itself. (And Navy & Shining Gold + Good Day, but I tend to prefer more funky fun beats than anything so.... Yep.)
