This is what I really love a like from Josh and Lucas. They are very keen, observant, and objective with technical stuff in regards to mixing and sound techniques. Thank you for teaching us how to be keen and attentive in listening like a sound/production engineer like the both of you. Hahahaha. In regards to what Lucas said, sometimes Filipino artist/composers do that added down-slur or up-slur phrase/word ending to add a 'Lambing' in Tagalog. If you learn tagalog (hopefully in the future), the foundation of the pronunciation of our language are the vowels a (ah), e(eh), i(ee) o(awe),u (oo), combined with all the consonants except for f, v, j, x and z (since those are originally borrowed letter for use) so you'll really mostly hear ba, be, bi, bo, bu or ka, ke, ki,ko, ku or even thr plosives so sensitive mics will really pick those up but there's a way to control or subdue it, ut just depends on the person though and on her delivery.

she’s got a beautiful voice but Kyla has had better performances than this one. she could have introduced more variations to the melody to keep listeners engaged rather than allow the repetition to become stale. (this is Morisette’s, Katrina’s, KZ’s and Jaya’s strength) i was getting bored with the song until Kyla started going crazy with her runs, but even then, the runs were not satisfying. my apologies to K’s fans. each run was impressive in itself, and she hit the high notes beautifully. but taken together, the variety and complexity of the runs still failed to give a sense of a story unfolding and developing. Kyla was up against 1) a song that doesnt have great melodic lines. 2) a song that is unmemorable, unlike Raining in Manila or Akin Ka Na Lang or Araw Gabi, where you can hum the melody after hearing the song just once. - the arrangement and instrumentation didn’t help, especially since the song is so repetitive. this puts a heavier burden on the singer to use their skills to deliver a DYNAMIC performance. i agree with Josh, that dynamics doesn’t refer simply to changes in volume level, but also in: - phrasing or trimbal variations - tonal delivery of the same lyrics can impart a new meaning or perspective each time they’re sung. - Playing with rhythm, syncopation or changing the pace to add freshness to repeated sections - Harmonic Support: Working with accompanying instruments to change the underlying harmony can give the same melody a new context - Strategic pauses or breaks in singing to create tension and release…
