Oh she’s only the best selling Philippine artist of all time. She burst onto the scene in the 80’s and she shocked everyone as no one sounded like her. She dominated the 90s and early 2000s and now she’s sharing the stage with the new artists whom she all inspired. She literally paved the way for power belters and balladeers in the Philippine music industry. Now it’s everywhere you go, and you can hear and feel the legacy she’s created. And the crazy thing is, she’s still up there competing head on, where her contemporaries have bowed out. She’s a treasure and a living legend. Many will argue who the best singer is, but they would all agree that Regine is the gold standard.

I remember when the SB19 boys during their rehearsal with Regine for their collaboration of the song Hanggang sa Huli, they were fanboying and I was so happy to see them act that way. Ken was extra nervous but Regine was so gracious and very encouraging to them. One of best things that happened to Philippine TV last year.

Even after more than three decades of singing , she's still going on beautifully with a still powerful but much more refined voice. She still can hold her own with the current power belters of today. She was suffering from a minor migraine, a cold, and acid reflux when she sung this while seated. Certainly, she was struggling to sing, but she was still doing better than the other vocalists her age. Actually with regards to water, her father (bless his soul) used to train Ms Regine neck deep in water and you can find interviews of her mentioning such method. Plus when she was just starting out and a lot younger she used to join hundreds of local competitions and majority of it she didn't win but now she's one of the legends of Philippine music. You were mentioning about our Filipino language; I would like to say this, our language and most of our dialects in the Philippines are not words only used for communication, but it is also a musical art form, or the main instrument being played on top of all the instruments used in a song. the sound of our language is like the sounds of birds chirping, and streams of water flowing in a creek. it is also good for rap music, due to its percussive nature. She's ASIA'S SONGBIRD, THE LEGEND, THE QUEEN, MISS REGINE. Every artist here looks up to her. She's been around for DECADES now. I think she's around 50+ years old now? When she first started appearing on shows and concerts (internationally even, which is how she got the title "Asia's Songbird"), she was just a teenager then. You could say she had a huge impact in the entertainment industry and I keep repeating this but she made belting a thing in PH, which is why people here are practiced in it. Her songs and covers made up most of my childhood. And because karaoke is a huge thing here, her songs in those machines are often sung by people, even kids! And that is how you get a vocally-rich community. She is such an icon that calling her an icon is not enough. Everybody respects her not only because she's talented, not only because of the influence she had on Filipino music, not even because she kept OPM afloat (OPM = Original Pinoy Music), but most of all, she's one of the humblest human beings you could find. She helped artists and is a genuinely kind lady. The reason for that is because she wasn't exactly well-off when she was a kid and yes, she trained ridiculously to get to where she is now. Someone like that knows how difficult it is to become a successful artist. Also fun fact: In a show, Lea Salonga said that it's difficult for a human to reach a certain high note, but when somebody said, "What about Ms. Regine? She can hit it." Lea replied, "She's different. She's a freak of nature." 🤣 It was a fun cameo; one legend commenting about another legend.

I noticed in OPM, we don't pay attention to trends. Personally, the song just has to answer two things: does it sound good? Can I relate to the lyrics? Whether I check out the artist again depends on whether they can perform it live exactly or better.

I watched all your reactions to all Filipino artist, your genuine reactions is what makes me watched you....Regine Velasquez is one of our timeless artist/singer were all Filipino singers looks up to her...Her father was the one who trained her to sing, hard intensive training actually, her father immersed her to the water up to her neck/ jaw to do vocalization/ vocal training, unorthodox method, she started at the age of 6...so a lot of young generations do that too....9 out of 10 Filipinos can sing.....the blind people here sings in the street as a means of of their living using a guitar and speaker and you will be amaze how good they are. 7:41 we have a Sunday live music broadcast show and she sings there for as long as I can remember and I’m 30 now (that’s where SB19 performed with her, plus SB19's concert where Regine was a guest). She probably took a break here and then (when she got pregnant etc.) but she sings almost every Sunday besides concerts, tours, practice etc. Regine is very supportive with new artists eversince, I remember her being supportive to Kyla when she's starting. She has a lot of wonderful collaboration with different kinds of artist, regardless of age, band, rapper, solo artists and now ppop group (hoping for morento come).

What I haven't seen commented on here is about the song. Everything said about Regine is true. But the fact that you're having cuddly warm feelings is a testament to the song as well. Araw-gabi is a song about love, lovers and making love in this deep and passionate way. "every Day and every night, I dream of you wherever I go. Every Day and every night, I'm drunk with love when I'm with you, every Day and every night, it's the two of us." And I'm guessing the reason she has the lyrics on the paper isn't because she doesn't know the words but the lyrics are also poetically written that they aren't how we normally put sentences together. It's a really beautiful song about love sang very beautifully.

Regine Velasquez Alcasid and Lani Misalucha are truly the very best singers in the Philippines that todays Filipino singers emulate. Despite their massive success locally in the Philippines as well as around Asia, they find time to support , train a lot of local artists. This particular performance was impromptu hence the lyrics being read on paper.

She was 40+ when she sang this in the wish bus. Due to old age and acid reflux, she had to forget some techniques she knew earlier in her career. She had to change techniques and it is evidently clear when you listen to her singing now. In her 50's she could still go up to C#6 when she likes to. Anyhow, almost all singers in the Philippines look up to Regine. Regine's vocal range is B2 to C#6. She belts in a chest-dominant mix making it really powerful. She is more comfortable sitting when singing. You should react to more of her songs. Josh, Brad this song is a piece of cake for her. Her belt here is just normal for her. She is like an Olympic champ in singing. Please react to her What kind of fool I am performance. Or Till I Met You (acoustic version), that one is so lovely to hear. You'll never be able to stop wanting to watch more of her stuff once you started to. It's like a rabbit hole.
