Amazing breakdown of an iconic and influential track. Awesome to learn from people doing multitrack/rock recording in Ableton!

Great video. Funny you mention the single root notes in the intro cause I always thought they did something similar with the intro riff for The Rock Show. I don't know what they did to make that riff sound so good honestly. Feels like there's a lot going on under the hood.
@JulianGrimmMusic2 жыл бұрын
I feel they do that root note trick in a lot of songs. The rock show riff is soo good because it’s layered crunchy guitars. Not super distorted.
@AleZayas2 жыл бұрын
@@JulianGrimmMusic is that the trick to making those single notes riffs Tom used to play during that era to cut through the mix and be so intelligible? Not a lot of distortion and close double tracking them, I mean?
@JulianGrimmMusic2 жыл бұрын
@@AleZayas yep for sure. Use overdrive not distortion. Focus on the mids and you should be golden.

Thanks for this! Been trying to make this sound ever since I heard it on the radio in 1999 when I was 12. The sound of the distorted guitar made me want to learn to play guitar and make the sound. I use Logic ProX though so wish me luck!
