I'm new to epoxy..I did a flood coat on my table top.. came out great but the side didn't come out great.. can I add epoxy to edges or do I need to re flood the table
@superclearepoxy
@superclearepoxy Жыл бұрын
Great question! You can absolutely add some epoxy to the edges of your table. If it has completely cured I would recommend lightly scuffing the sides with either 220 grit sandpaper (or even a scotchbrite pad) and wiping it down with Isopropyl Alcohol 90% or higher first. Then proceed with applying a thin layer of either our Superclear Table Top Epoxy or Countertop Epoxy. This can be done by hand, with a chip brush, or a foam brush. The reason for scuffing the surface is to help with proper adhesion for a mechanical bond. If it is too smooth of a surface there may not be a proper bond, which could potentially lead to delamination down the road. If it is still hard & tacky, skip the sanding and go right ahead with applying the next thin coating using the products mentioned above. I've been using Liquid Glass for about 4 years. Best epoxy I've ever used!! I mostly make epoxy river cutting boards but have also made a few small tables. They turn out beautiful! I also use Black Diamond pigments. Both are nothing but the best!! You wanna make good products use good ingredients.

That's what is confusing,. The directions say use sealant or curing agent. This is not addressed in the video. Also, the temperature needs to be 70 to 80° The video says, "Keep cool. Heat is an enemy. Which is it?

Did you use or should you spray the mold with a release spray prior to pouring the resin in?
@superclearepoxy
@superclearepoxy Жыл бұрын
Great question - we actually did NOT use any mold release in this product breakdown. BUT - if we did, we would highly recommend a paste wax mold release for use with Liquid Glass Deep Pour Epoxy. The sprayable mold release tends to dissolve before the deep pour epoxy cures. You can find the mold release on our online store: www.superepoxysystems.com/product-category/tools-accessories/mold-releases/

Hi there! Did you ever come back & video the "fix" on the square piece ? I was wondering how you did the dome and what you used. I've made coasters that i feel definietly need a top pour. Thx so much! I also have the liquid glass deep pour epoxy but a little gun-shy to start a project with it. Still new to resin and trying to pin down what i want to do with it🤪!
@superclearepoxy

Hey Michelle - thanks for reaching out! We haven't fixed that project yet, but we certainly plan on it. Our next video will be on our 24 Hour Deep Pour Epoxy, and that will be our last product breakdown for a bit. We will most likely work on some DIY projects and that square piece you mentioned. A quick summary for how we plan to restore it would be by sanding it down beneath the blemishes, cleaning with Isopropyl Alcohol 90% or higher, followed by either a polishing compound or a flood coat with our Superclear Table Top Epoxy. Hope that helps! Have a great one 😊

The direction that come with your epoxy recommends using the sealant first. I cant find what its refering to. Is that the glass top? Also it says the temperature needs to be between 70& 85 I think but your x Video says keep the epoxy cool. Please clarify. Ty

Hey Michelle, we have heard of people using a seed heating mat to place under their mold to help bring up the temperature, but we don't have any first hand experience with this. Feel free to give it a shot, but keep in mind that introducing too much heat could have adverse results on the outcome of your pour 👍

I don't understand how so many epoxy companies have not tested for cps rating. It' has to be one of the most important stats and Liquid Glass doesn't test for it.

That would be awesome, HOWEVER, this product does not hold up well to direct UV sun light exposure. It will significantly decrease the clarity in a short span of time. Also if it is sitting out in the sun, if it gets too warm (around 150F-160F), this could cause the resin to become flexible. Let us know how it goes though.. 🫠

You actualy dont want 90% iso. 70% cuts through oil maybe a little slower, but you get longer work time. You guys try pouring 90% on a towel and see how long you can clean with it before it evaporates
@superclearepoxy
@superclearepoxy 8 күн бұрын
Great point! 70% isopropyl does provide longer work time for cleaning due to slower evaporation, making it effective for removing oils. What’s your go-to cleaning method?
