My favorite part of the hobby is opening the box for the first time and looking at the wonderful train I just bought. Like a kid at Christmas! Nice job James!

The best factory horn sound i've ever heard. It doesn't sound like it's strained and faint.

An FYI for those looking at the Norpac, the number seen here is the BN number. The (only 2) FP7s that Norpac had were 6600 & 6601. Athearn's version of these have the right NP numbers. The Intermountain numbers can be changed with decals of your choice. Also if you're doing the NCL like I am, get the Inmtn F3s. The NCL used dynamic equipped locos for the mountains (go figure!). Anyways, their FP7s didn't have dynamics and were used on smaller trains on their system. Hope this helps someone 🙂

Glad they finally made the Nebkota units. They used to run through my town back in the 90’s.

I think F Units coupled to appropriate passenger rolling stock would make an ideal starter set for those new to the hobby. The lack of small details means they can stand up to rough handling especially by youngsters. But I might start with relatively inexpensive Bachmann Sound Value Units in this scenario. Then maybe progress to these Intermountain Units as the fleet expands,

Those are very nice engines, One thing I noticed was that if you have the NS 911 and the UP 911 you'll have a little problem lol.

Just for info, the "stripes" on the NP unit's nose are a representation of non-skid strips-for workmen standing on the nose. Good review. Feel better.

I wished Intermountain would get with the times and do what Genesis, BLI and Walthers are doing with having road-specific details to their models.

Why many models F7/FP7 do not have handrails on windscreen, and some they are. Prototypes always have?

When u wish that intermountain made stuff in Boston and Maine road names. I pre-ordered a BM f7 AB set from bowser two years ago. Anyone know when that and the rs3 project will be done?
