step-by-step instructions to if your bevel doesn't show: Start by selecting the mesh that you want to bevel. Press "Tab" to go into Edit mode. Press "A" to select all vertices in the mesh. In the "Mesh" menu at the top of the screen, select "Merge by Distance". This will eliminate any duplicate vertices in your mesh. If that doesn't solve the problem, it might be an issue with the normals. To fix this, still in Edit mode, select the mesh and go to "Mesh" > "Normals" > "Recalculate Outside". This should ensure that all the faces are facing in the correct direction. After following these steps, try using the bevel tool again and see if it works.

I've been playing around with Blender for around 4 months now and this was exactly the tutorial I was looking for, really happy with the result! Nicely explained use of the cloth simulations and general concepts used for modelling. A really good all-round tutorial from start to finish (modelling, lighting, shading, decals & simulations). I have been working and using Blender professionally for years, I wish I had this kind of tutorials back on time, really well explained and so effficient workflow. Thank you. Only one recommendation, I work sometimes for fashion industry and they are really picky about the cloth simulation/realism, I think for this specific project is great how you do it but if you ned something more realistic and accurate simulations, I recomment to scale the object up like 10 times so the simulation is more accurate and realistic, specially when you want to have an animation

The difference of transmission roughness vs roughness is the former is roughness of the "volume" and affects the refraction, roughness is just the surface. You can have frosted glass inside but polished on the surface or vice versa.

Brilliant tutorial. Quick point for anyone modelling to real world scale I found that the pressure setting during the ear pad cloth simulation has to be ramped up to about 500.

If you also had a problem with the ear cushion going backwards (at about 18:20 in the video), the solution is to set the pressure to a negative number.

recalculate your normals. you will have shading issues, curling issues and more if you don't.

Someone has my same issue? At minute 18:19 he select pressure and the vertex group for shape, but in my project the headcup animation doesnt work as in the video. Vertex group pinned stay stand in his position but the other part of the obejct goes through it and stop in a simmetric position

Hi Derek, instead of copying every modifier manually you can select all the objects with the object that have the modifier as the last one. Click ctrl+l and you can select modifier from the drop menu. I have been learning a lot from this channel and I thought I could share what I know.

Hi Derek, I hope all is well. First time Blender user here. Great tutorial! I am hours in to trying to build these, although at 14:16, my earcups don't adjust like this. If I move the bevel amount to anything above zero, the edges become very sharp, otherwise it's an uneven earcup. It's so strange. Please let me know if you recognize this type of issue.

Unfortunatley the stage at 22:00 does not work in blender 4.0 for some reason. Once I have everything parented to the empties it crashes upon moving the cube. I have tried it for around 15 minutes hiding each object doesnt work, hiding the mirror etc.

Try right clicking the object and hitting "convert to > mesh". It'll collapse that objects modifiers, but it should help prevent the crashing.

Great tutorial. At 23:30 you can simply add a circle from wich you create the shape of the headband and then adjust everything to fit with the rest of the headphones. No need to add cube and everything.
