Sorry about the audio at the beginning... I had my face too close to the mic. It gets better after a minute or two. ;)

I have been enjoying my Panpastels for a couple years now, only seriously for the past couple weeks. I do enjoy the painterly feel of them and love the lack of mess! Thank you for the link to the free video tutorials, I didn't know it existed and am sure it will help a lot! Thank you for all you do to help us newbies!!! God bless!!!

I have used PanPastels in my mixed media artwork for the past few years. Watching your videos has given me some new ideas for using them! They are great!

As great as Pan Pastels are, and as many ooh & ahs that they get, I don't see that many pastel artists using them (especially for an entire painting) as much as the soft pastels. It's too bad. I have a small set myself of about a dozen or so, and want to add to my stash, but I just don't pick them up for regular use. Now that Golden owns them, that the more primary use of them might change. And I think they don't even create as much dust? and layer beautifully too. Thanks!

What do you put over the painting once finished to keep the pastels from coming off?
@monetcafe4 жыл бұрын
There are a few things you can do.... 1. Store them in plastic resealable bags... I use www.clearbags.com 2. Keep them in between sheets of Glassine (it's sort of like wax paper, but will keep your painting safe until framing. 3. Frame it 4. NEVER spray a final painting with "fixative". It will darken the painting. Hope that helps! :) :) :) Happy Painting!
