A comprehensive review of the Rapid Force Duty Holster from Alien Gear Holsters. Also, how it stands in comparison to the tank of duty holsters Safariland’s 6360 ALS holster. A possible CRITICAL FAILURE found in the (my) Safariland holster as well!

Good review brother. I was an LEO myself before moving on but I wish I had this holster in my old Dept. I had the same Safariland you have. Already been looking at the RapidForce for awhile and it’s a solid piece of kit for what I’m seeing around. Stay safe on the watch.

I injured the thumb on my right hand (Severed the tendon) and I was worried about the Safariland. The "nub" is pretty solid. I was considering swapping to the Blackhawk Serpa 3 but that holster has a history of ADs blamed on it. This Alien Gear seems like a great alternative. Thank you for the review.

Im 21 and in school trying to become law enforcement. I just found this holster (not an LEO but i still shoot and practice a lot) and i love it. I may not have the years of experience with other holsters so im trying to find a good one. I enjoyed the video and im sold. You're one of few current officers who have tested and gave opinions on this so thank you.

JT Rodriguez like I said. I experienced this in my Safariland rig. I was also able to recreate it in a guy I work with holster too. I’m not sure it’s an issue across the board with the Safariland holsters, but I think it needs looked at.

One solution to the occasional inconsistent draw, resulting in a snag, would be to attach and wear a leg strap. I wear one one duty with my Safariland 6354 DO and S&S Precision GRT and the leg strap virtually eliminates hang ups. I know some departments might let you wear a leg strap, because it looks “too tactical.” (Insert eye roll)

I have to say I love my Safariland holster, we don’t run the hood, and run RMR and Light, have not had major issues with retention screw, I cannot judge the Alien Gear but seemed like very tight tolerances. I would add a single leg strap as that works for me. Also after 10 years on any piece of kit is pretty good running.

I've been using the Rapid Force for a few months and generally like it, save for the hotspots it causes for me on my belt rig, and a few minor issues. I was wondering if you've thought about trying to ditch the AGH mount to investigate if it can be fitted to the QLS Fork System? It looks like the holes don't line up, but I wonder if anyone has drilled new holes to use this shell with the QLS?

Thanks for at 7:30 for double checking the screw retention is right in the 6360. I’ve been carrying a 6360 for a very long time and recently went to the the 6360RDS. I double checked and am good with the retention. But I’m also a Firearms Instructor for my dept. and will check other Officers holsters for safety 👍🏼 For the Alien Gear, can there be a spring or other mechanism in the hood release that can break that would render the hood inoperable or jam it?
@TheMicLoop
@TheMicLoop 4 жыл бұрын
James Burke I don’t believe that it’s spring driven. The force that it deploys with depends on how much I exert on the thumb drive button. Leads me to believe that it’s on some sort of cam that rocks over after a certain point.

Thomas Scott I think that this is a great holster. I changed out my Safariland with this rig, and I’m using it daily. I really like it and am building confidence with it daily. That being said, whatever setup you choose TRAIN with it as much as you can. Develop solid muscle memory with it so that when you need it you don’t have to think about the mechanics of it. Stay safe.

Does the Safariland QLS system align with the Aliengear attachment points? I have several rigs setup with the QLS (slotted end) and would like to attach the pronged end to the holster; I know the aliengear has a quick release system, but I didn't see individual sales of it on their site. BTW, for those whom may be interested, I've run the OLIGHT PL Mini 1 & 2 on my Glock 19 in the Safariland 7360-28292 (designed for the TLR-1 HL) with absolutely zero fitment issues (rattling or snagging), so it very well might have a similar fitment on this Aliengear Rapid Force... if anyone has discovered otherwise, please advise. EDIT: (15 min. and several YT videos later). Apparently the mounting holes are not aligned to be compatible with any of the major quick-release mounting systems available. Only the proprietary Aliengear quick-release mount can be used... so it probably will only be attachable to Aliengear drop-leg and belt mounts as well; that blows.
@TheMicLoop
@TheMicLoop 4 жыл бұрын
Del you’re right, the holes don’t line up. However the quick detach mount they have is very good, and will work across their platform well.

What has your experience been with security officers? Good bad what do you think of them or how do you look at them being law enforcement?!
@TheMicLoop
@TheMicLoop 2 жыл бұрын
I mean, they’ve got a job to do like anyone else. They pretty much have to play the role of police without any one the authority. The most they can really do is escort people off private property and call the cops for enforcement. I’d say a large number of them have aspirations of being cops. There are also those who think that security makes them cops, and the overstep their boundaries and roles. I’ve had experience with all kinds off them. Mostly though they’ve been helpful when I’ve had to do my job.

@@TheMicLoop that’s where it gets a little confusing is with the boundaries the agency I work for we patrol with Denver PD and we carry tasers firearms we detain people we transport people we can tease people there’s a whole load of things we can do but we cannot put anyone under arrest we can only detain them until the cops get there but the boundaries as what I’m most concerned of I don’t want to overstep authority or boundaries with the police that I’m working with any sound advice? Aside from the good advice you already gave me

Has this ever been a documented case of this happening. Where this has failed in that manner. Not to mention you’re comparing a 10-year old holster to a holster that you’ve barely had for a few months. It just seems that The Safari land holster has been is in existence for decades and at that if that was a critical failure that happens it would’ve been addressed maybe I’m wrong with that. Also I have try to replicate the male function that you show in the video and found it next to impossible with my holster but that’s only a sample size of one so who knows
