I’ve switched both my bikes to M5b and have been really impressed with it in all conditions. Even in the wet rocks and roots. I ride lots of different conditions and have no complaints about its performance anywhere.

We used these in Hawaii a lot and they worked great in the clay mud. When everyone stops on the trail, all the tires will be packed with mud except for the M5B. It clears out very well.

These have become my go-to tires for both front and rear. I ride in sand and mud a lot and they are hard to beat there, and aren't bad when the ground is hard. But I ride in very few rocky areas and no slabs of rock. the knobs are so tall they make the bike ride noticeably taller.

My favorite tire for So Cal desert riding. Excels at the big hill climbs and sand washes. I have the 130-80-18 on my Beta 390

Jeff, another great video and I can say you are spot on for this tire. I live/ride in southern California desert and there is not a better all around desert tire for this area. I run Tubliss at 5 lbs and it is amazing. My riding buddies complain about the rooster tail it throws...LOL! I have a 2020 500 EXC and run the 140 (purchased from Slavens Racing I might add) and honestly mounted up it looks more like in between a 110 and a 120. Also the lugs are around 22mm so incredible tire wear mileage. I ran my last one to about 500 miles and it was still gripping reasonable well at the tend. When I do my annual summer trip up to CO it's JX8 time as this tire although workable isn't the best for the hard pack rocky CO terrain as you indicated.

Thank you for making this video. Can you do a comparison video for the mb5 evo front tire there not much information on it and I would really like to see the tread pattern. It's hard to trust internet reference photos.

I'll put a front tire video in the queue but it may be a while. For an accurate picture of the front tire, go this page slavensracing.com/shop/m5b-evo-soft-terrain-rear-tire-by-irc/ and in the drop-down menu click on the front tire.

How would this hold up for dual sport riding on the street?

I haven’t run this tire on street yet but the Motoz tractionator works very good on the street and good all types of off-road riding, I run the 130 on my beta 430, best mileage for the most aggressive tire so far. I worry about the knob height on the m5b being too tall and rolling on the road

This tire destroys NJ Sand, mud, and roots. I like to think that the knobs are so big that the roots get hooked between the knobs. If you're riding mud between rocks with lots of elevation change like in the northeast on a rainy day (and I'm sure the PNW), this is a great tire. I run this half the time and run a VE33S in PA/NY rocks the other half.

What size M5B tire would you recommend for a 350 XC - W For Southern NJ ?
@MichaelAbramo2 жыл бұрын
@@kevindouglass5175 I have used the 130 size but I may drop to 120. Sizing is kind of weird because the 130 uses the same size mousse as the VE33S 110/100, if I remember correctly. I will also add that the VX30 rear is EXCELLENT in south jersey. But not great in PA rocks. I use the VX30 front everywhere. Never tried the m5b front or the VE35F

@@MichaelAbramo Thanks Michael for your input . I've been running the Sedona MX 907 HP for several years In Vermont, Pa , West Virginia, North Carolina with great results. Especially at the Hatfield Hatfield McCoy trails where it is hard pack and rocks. M59 front everywhere. Picked up JX-8 + VE33s rear and going to give them a try. Solid Performance in Downingtown Pa. does excellent suspension work if ever in need of upgrades - service. Best Wishes

I use Dunlop AT81 main reason is that you can ride them on a flat. I have ridden 40 miles on a flat to get back home with no problem

The M5B was a tire I just replace and used for all conditions and couldn’t wear it out. I replaced because I was tired of looking at it. I did cut on it 3x which is kind of unheard of for most dirt bike tires. The tire had almost 800 miles when i removed her. I put the tire on in June of 20 and took it off in October of 21 . It’s definitely worth trying. The size I used was the 130/80 I think which crosses w a 110/100 maybe and ran w the Bridgestone UH w 8-9lbs .The bike ‘20 300 xcw . It was very predictable . Even after the 3rd cut it was used in a dual spot in eastern Ohio (it rained)and it walked right up muddy slick rocks (in 2nd) passing everyone on the hill .. They were priced very reasonable ( $80 or less). I did replace w the 33s so ill see how it compares to the M5B . IRC has everyone else on the ropes..

Hey Joe, months later I found this response very useful as I mainly ride east/southeastern Ohio. I feel like we have a tendency to get rained on so looking for something that can withstand the grease and be great when we get lucky with no rain. I am interested to see your thoughts in comparison to the VE33s in these conditions. Thanks!

I've bn hooked on the ve33s tire for the last few years think it's the best tire I've ever use but I've switched from a 300 to a 350 4stroke I may have to check these m5b tires out afraid my husky 350 will eat the 33s tires up

Hello: VE33 Gummies are a high performance tire, not a high mileage tire and 350s have less HP than a well built 300.

What size would you recommend for a 2021 YZ125X 110/80x18 or 120/80x18 to replace the AT81 110/90x18 I'm running now? I checked out the specs for both sizes on the IRC page and crossed them to the Dunlop specs and it looks like the 110 M5B is a little narrower than the Dunlop and the 120 is a little wider but slightly taller. I really don't want to go with a taller tire but will the 110 not be wide enough? There are a lot of comments on the internet about how these tires run narrow. Getting ready to do some early spring track riding here in the northeast and it's always very muddy and loamy.

@@wishuwerdead8803I wouldnt use it for that application, leads to frustration in anything wet (for me). Better off with a VE33s or JX8.
