I just got one of those and i was really surprised in how small it is. Even for me at 5'9 140lbs the length of pull feels to short. I still like it but be aware.

I feel like the brn-180 could really compete against the sig mcx if they would get rid of that side charging handle and they could run a smaller ejection port with a ar style dust cover.

Might be a dumb question but why do most folding stocks fold towards the body of a right handed shooter? Wouldnt you want to be able to fold the stock from a slinged position then shoulder it?

as to not impede the charging handle or ejection port. this model folds either way.

A lot of new AK rifles fold the opposite way and the folded stock sits under the charging handle so it can fire in the folded position. Always made more sense to me to have all the parts on one side away from the body.

The stock itself is aluminum, the hinge is steel. Not sure what types of aluminum or steel, and the website doesn't list the weight either. Sorry!

That isn't extruded it's CNC'd from a block. That shape is unextrudable or it's cheaper/easier to CNC

I prefer folding to the right folder setups. Its a Mini14 thing, I got used to folding that way.

Why? It has a 1913 attachment point that should be more than obvious as to why it doesn't work on an AR plus there is no buffer tube for the recoil spring of an AR. So that's two very obvious reasons why it wouldn't work.

That looks like a ridiculously _uncomfortable_ stock. Akin to those dreadful wire stocks we often seen on various AK's. Nonetheless, I thoroughly understand the concept of such a new product. With the advent of you BRN-180's™ I surmise that many people were looking for something that would accommodate this proprietary platform. Stay classy my friends.

Midwest side folder is as comfortable as a standard stock, nothing like the E German AK wire stock or the dreadful under folder AK stock copied from the German MP-40..

It looks like it has decent cheek weld at least. It's contoured at a curve vs being angled. Also that middle notch looks like you could rig up an adjustable cheek riser of some sort. Though you might have to be creative with that. The biggest issue? Probably using it during the winter lol.
