ugh that they can just ask you for more condo fees on top of what you already pay. Yep I can see why you want to own a house verses a condo. I live in an apartment currently so can’t relate to the condo fees. Although this makes me feel even more grateful that I have a lot included in my rent that most apartments don’t include. My rent includes gas, water, sewer, trash, parking, indoor and outdoor maintenance etc. I do pay for electricity and internet but other than that everything else apartment complex related is included in rent. It makes me not want to move because the rent price is on the low end for the area. The nearby apartments are only a tiny bit nicer but are on average $250 more a month(some are even smaller SQ wise)and don’t include anything in rent.

Our realtor suggested we opt in to getting some sort of “special assessment” coverage for our condo insurance. That way we just pay a deductible if they all of sudden make you pay something crazy. Might be worth looking into!

My fave time-tracking app is Toggl (no idea if you have it in the US/Canada). I like to colour-code and tag for each client and it makes it so much easier to see how much time I spend on every task/client.

Ooh girl. I'm in a condo too. Our fees just went up last month AND they just charged us for fireplace/dryer vent cleaning, which was $100. I was MAD. I'm paying $500/mo for what exactly if this kind of stuff ain't covered with fees??? With the housing market now I don't think we'll be moving possibly ever so we'll deal, but my advice to others is do not get into a condo corp if you can help it. 😭 Hope your event in Iqaluit went well and that everything is going well with the Hosp job. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. ❤

I think condos can be great for some people and for alot of us its what we can afford when buying your first home but yes I agree don't get into it if you don't need to!

Condos are so hit or miss depending on the financials and the condo board/management. I'm excited to see your next steps! I still love our condo but i am so over communal/shared living 🥲

I'm sure you with your company are all looked after but my spouse is a firefighter and is now on his days off so if you want to sight see by walking and/or driving places we would be happy to help. Idk about the laws in Canada, but I feel like you should be getting paid for your travel time meaning that you should be getting a shit ton of overtime this week.

I did say in this video I was being paid to travel! I actually get paid for a whole day of work when my travel day/ flight was only 3hrs so its great! My job compensates me for travel😊 As a part time employee my "normal" work week is only about 25 hours and a traditional 9-5 employee is 37.5 so I'm just working "normal" fulltime hours, no overtime! But if I worked over the 37.5hrs/week at a conference I'd be eligible for overtime! I don't work for free haha I bill them for every hour of work I do!
