I always put water in the ring.... and i stuff the chicken with lemon and Italian herbs, for the rest coat it with olive oil, salt and chilli powder. AMAZING results, every time! I do not remove the grill plate. Actually putting the chicken on the grill plate is okay. 90 minutes at good heat is enough... even longer is also okay. I use a pin temp meter that i can stick into the bird through the holes of the lid

Better to burn the fire charcoal out of the Cobb until charcoal has turned grey or white then return charcoal basket to Cobb. This way you don’t get the inside of the Cobb all black .

I absolutely hated my Cobb until I changed the fuel I was using. Now wouldn't be without it. Great for roast dinners while camping or if I am too lazy to fire up the Webber. I have also smoked meat in mine as well. great results

we are not particularly religious but a new pastor started at the church right next door - he invited us to a "picnic in the park". so we took the Cobb and fed all of em!..in a field... .mega efficient design!..oh and all from one 'cobblestone' for fuel

I'm brand new to the Cobb. Is there a way to cook steaks and hamburgers, etc. directly over the coals to get more or a barbecued taste rather than smoked?
@richardedwards93896 жыл бұрын
They have just launched a BBQ accessory - which allows for direct grilling.

there is, there's a stainless steel coal basket and griddle that can be bought separately to do just that.

Any reason why you did not take the cobb indoors during the storm?.....its designed to be moved around if needed.....
@ProductReviewsHelp3 жыл бұрын
Don’t ever move your Cobb indoors! Not only will you get a room full of smoke you will be at risk from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Nice review, but I too would have liked to know how much time the chicken took to cook :)
@ProductReviewsHelp9 жыл бұрын
+indigovenice To be honest I can't remember how long it took but I do know I didn't have to change the coals so it couldn't have been that long, I suspect around an hour to hour and a half or so, it's a good excuse to do it again to find out.

+Product Review Help my first attempt the coal biscuits just kept going out i had to put it on top of my butane stove to finish cooking the chicken because the coals sucked guess its quite important what brand you buy because i relit these ones ontop of a stove untill they were glowing and they just went out after 5 minutes

I used a thermometer & it was perfect. I turned the chicken after 45 minutes to breast side up. It was perfect after another 45 minutes & the temperature was 74 degrees centigrade. Oh Colemans do a rub for £1 at asda . It was perfect

That's a good question, I should have said in the video, it's 5 years ago now so I can't remember how long it took, sorry. I would guess a couple of hours.
@travispittman12004 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying, I'm just getting used to the same model, it took close to 2 hrs for me to bbq 4 bone in skin on chicken breast yesterday the rack was full capacity as well , they turned out perfect tho , I think I'm going to like using this grill , thanks for the video
@minimainiac19694 жыл бұрын
@@travispittman1200 I use the cobblestones to do mine. I add 200-220ml of water to the moat, season the chicken and bung it in and leave it closed for 2hrs. If you look at it it'll take at least 10minutes to get back up too temp. The chicken always comes out perfectly cooked and lovely and juicy. I don't advise doing a chicken much over 1.6kg as they tend to lift the lid. If you get one that does then untie the legs and push down firmly to squash it down a bit lol.

this looks great but the price of this at $325 CDN and the "Lotus" at $500 are ridiculous for a table top charcoal grill!!
@richardedwards93896 жыл бұрын
If it were just a grill - you'd be right. But actually the Cobb is as much oven as it is grill. It is very versatile and can do way more than a Lotus.

@@richardedwards9389 agree perfect for using on a yacht that does not have an oven. Pizza, roasts, pulled pork, ribs, smoked fish, scones, vegemite damper and bread, stir fry, Stews cooked in a small dutch oven placed inside the COBB BBQ, on the boil water with COBB Kettle to have hot water on demand to make esspresso coffee with the WACACO Nanopresso, the list is endless, the luxury is a given.

Hello found your video interesting to a point. Unfortunately you did miss showing the viewer a couple of very important facts 1/ You did not inform the viewer as to the length of time that it took to fully cook the chicken 2/ you did not push a strewer into the chicken to see if the juices were running clear = meaning that the chicken was fully cooked 3/ you did not inform the viewer as to if the 9 beads were actually enough to fully cook the chicken (without having to add extra bead(s). If the above missing facts had of been covered in your video then that certainly would have help a novice Cobb user.
@UncleJaco2 жыл бұрын
Cooking time: 90 minutes to 2 hours. 9 beads is more than enough, I only use 6 in many cases. 6 beads makes for a more temperate heat as well.

These things can barely cook sausages and burgers - a whole chicken? I think I would avoid the inevitable food poisoning.
@ProductReviewsHelp3 жыл бұрын
I beg to differ, it cooks a whole chicken as you can see if you watch the video, have you got one? If you have then you aren't using it properly.
