Try pouring boiling water on your used candles and all the wax will rise to the top and take it out and then you can then melt this in the same way you would in a wax tart burner. :)

What you can do with the lefovers of your candles is put them in the freezer for about an hour, they will crack and fall out. Put them in a small pot on low heat, melt them, then pour into an ice cube tray. Voila, your own tarts for a tart burner plus a nice jar to re-use.

You can purchase candle warmers to melt the rest of the candle. But as someone else mentioned, you can freeze the candle in the freezer and then chip them out with a utensil. I have tried this and it works. Found youtube videos on how to do this. It is also a great way to reuse the jars since they are really great to place things in.

To save some wax you can pop the candle in the freezer and the wax comes right out. If you have a device like a scentsy or something you can chop your excess over and drop them in there.

My mum sells candles and the way she gets the leftover wax out of candles is by putting it in the freezer for about 10 minutes and then you get something like a knife and get it out that way, what you do with the wax after of coarse is up to you, love all your videos xx

Just love your videos, they are so informative. I visit the states only once, sometimes twice year, and spend ages in bath and Bodyworks, but never bring back candles because of the weight. Votivo makes a lot of scents that are similar to Diptyque. You'd probably like their Red Currant if you like Baies. I think the one you have is their Crisp White Linen. They have a ginger pineapple one that is great in a kitchen, I love the Nest Holiday scent, my favorite festive candle. And their pink rose one for Breast Cancer charities is lovely as well.

You can definitely melt down the extra wax in your used up candles! You can set the candle on a stove burner on a low heat to fill your house with the smell or you could buy a small glass jar and wick to pour the melted wax into. Candle warmers are very inexpensive :) love your videos!

OK, Fleur. I'm going to place my blind confidence in your recommendation for Unite Leave-In conditioner. I have long hair and have tried everything to get the tangles out. Just went to Amazon and purchased a bottle of Unite - product unseen (outside of your word).

I felt the same way you did about throwing the candles away with so much wax still in them so now I take the leftover wax out of the candles, cut it it into smaller pieces and then melt it in an electric wax warmer. (It's easy to get the wax out if you pop the candles in the freezer for a few hours). I get many more hours of life from the candles this way. Plus once you clean out the jars you have great little storage containers.

Fleur you can totally melt down the wax to remake a candle. You will have to buy the wicks but other than that you just melt them using a double boiler method. If you want to layer them up like you said, melt one and pour into a jar, let it harden and do the next one and so on. Please blog about it if you do it x

With the candle wax you can put the jar into the oven on a low temperature for a few minutes until the wax is liquid, and then pour it into another candle but without covering the wick. Hope this helps! xx
@airelibee11 жыл бұрын
I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates wasting all the extra wax :) I did try to make a layered candle but the wax ended up melting too quickly and mixed all the different smells together, which wasn't really all that pleasing to the nose :/ I make them into tea lights instead, so I definitely recommend going that route!

Fleur correct me if im wrong but when ever I smell B&BWs candle in Leaves I pick up more of a Celery smell than anything else. Easy trick to get the most out of your candles! When it won't burn anymore and there's still wax at the bottom, pour boiling water over it (like the B&B jars, fill with water to like 2/3 or 3/4 of glass), and wait till wax cools. The wax will melt to the top and float over the water! Once it's cooled, take out the wax, and break it into chunks to use with a tarte candle burner. The smell might not be as strong, but you can still get some use out of it! Plus when you are doing the hot-water stage, that releases the scent too, might fill a room for a little bit. Hope this helps!

Run hot water over the bottom of the candle jars and the wax will pop right out :) I re use the candle jars all the time. And if you take the left over wax, you can melt it in a sensy wax warmer
@theoriginaljemima11 жыл бұрын
You can freeze the candles to remove the leftover wax but personally I prefer to fill mine with boiling water and leave for around 12 hours. The wax will melt but won't mix with the water so it floats to the top and then cools with the water. Usually you can then just cut the wax in half, pop out the wicks and pour the water away. I find it so much easier than hacking away at the frozen wax and you're less likely I scratch the jar. Just be careful and make sure the water has fully cooled and had time to sit or there may be some wax remains in it and you will get wax down your sink when you pour it away! From here you can heat the wax in a saucepan (which can get quite messy!) or I'd highly recommend a wax pot melter. It takes time and patience to layer the wax as you have to let it cool for around 36-48 hours completely each time - or your candle will fill with air and sink when you burn it or the different scents will mix and can become quite overpowering. Hope this helps :)

You can freeze the candle and use a wax burner to give of the cent, if you take the wax out when frozen it won't Leave to much residue and using the wax will mean you're not wasting anything :) xxx

If you have a jar that you really want to re-use (I did this with my Aquarius Jar from PartyLite) you can put the jar into a bowl of hot water with the wax out of the water until the wax is softened then scoop the left over wax out with some kitchen roll or paper towels and then you can reuse the jar either with a votive candle in or as something else. Also if your looking for a really good brand for good quality candles I would highly recommend PartyLite. :)

Ok, first of all, I just don't get the people who leave negative comments... Anyway, you can use the extra wax in oil burners. There are different ways to get the wax out of the candle such as the freezer method (below in comments) or slightly submerging the candle into very hot water, let the wax warm up a bit, and then cut out into little chunks and stick into a baggie to save. Just make sure not to burn huge chunks at a time, because if you still have wax in the burner when you decide to blow it out (or unplug), it will lose its scent if exposed to air for too long. But it works well, I've done it many times!! :)

If you pour boiling water into the glass jar and leave it for a couple of hours all of the wax melts, floats to the top and then goes hard again as it is cooled. Mine usually form into a disc at the top of the jar which I melt down again to make a 'leftover wax' candle. It also leaves the jar spotless so you can reuse them too :)
