The winner of the giveaway is Lorelei Esmond. What is your favorite inexpensive product that feels luxurious?
@MzClementine3 жыл бұрын
Be careful with Pantene products. They use a lot of silicones. Truly silicones are good for the environment and ourselves. The reason why the other ones take so long is because they're actually penetrating the cuticle of the hair. What Pantene does is just covers the hair strand. It doesn't go in and actually condition the hair. It basically puts a silicone conditioning cover over the hair. So in a way with long-term use of that you can wind up with dryer brittle hair. That comes from a girlfriend of mine that we've been friends from middle school she's a hair stylist. Right out of high school. She's oh my God she's 50 this year. Cuz she's 6 years older than me. She's my best friend's sister. Funny I'm better friends with her than her little sister. Hehehehe...

Oh my gosh! I was going to congratulate the winner & I it was me. I had to read it twice because I was certain I had misread it. WOW! I’m so excited! Thank you so much! That story about your teacher had me in tears. It was so heartfelt & touching. Thank you for sharing that. My grandmothers both lost their husbands & had to work at a time women did not work. One became the County Clerk & first woman Sheriff in her county. (Her mother brought her to the West in a covered wagon!) The other built a thriving farm. Talk about empowered women! Whenever tough days arise, they are my inspiration. I know many of you ladies have similar stories. I LOVE hearing them so please share. Thank you again Laura! Speaking of women who inspire me, YOU have been on my list for a very long time. I truly appreciate your amazing, positive, honest & informative content. Putting yourself out there publicly isn’t essy. I admire your courage, commitment, persistence & ambition. You have never given up on us or yourself. We notice & adore you for that. 💕💄

My fifth grade teacher I can remember so clearly. Way back then, her joy with her students stood out! She knew all our birthdays; she held all of our secrets. I can't remember her ever being mad. She treated us so kindly. Fifth grade!

As a speech language pathologist in the schools, my first (unwritten of course) goal is that each child knows they are loved. I hope I am influencing these kiddos. Life is so hard. I want to provide them a soft spot on which to land. I imagine you’re an AMAZING teacher, Laura. Have a lovely day.

I love Flower Beauty and Drew Barrymore. I lost both of my parents when I was a child, and a wonderful couple took me in. Had it not been for them I don’t think I would’ve finished high school. I called them my step parents even though they really weren’t. My step mother taught me about all things beauty and fashion. She died three years ago and I still miss her so much. I love that you’re giving tribute to a teacher. I think they are superheroes.

I really love Flower Beauty products, too. I tried the Snapdragon lipstick shade and it was bright- not where I usually go, but why not? Enjoy life. One of my most influential women in my life, was my best friend's mom. We lived a block away and I met her and her daughter in a local bank where I was with my mom. I was painfully shy. She knelt down and offered me a square of gum and we chatted and realized we lived one block away and that her daughter & I would be in the same 2nd grade class in the coming school year. She worked for a time at a clothing factory and would bring scraps of fabric that we would make into doll clothes. The very best thing about her and her daughter was that they were quick to laugh! I just loved that about them. She and her husband, who were about 10 years younger than my parents, (I playfully called them Mom & Dad II and always did) were very honest and open. Last month, she died from Covid complications at age 84. Her daughter was her only child. It was my first Zoom wake (and hopefully, my last). Distance and circumstances have separated my friend and me, but we're still close 57 years later.

I love Flower Beauty & the Bum Bum cream. I bought the OGX and what I do is take about a quarter tsp of the Bum Bum cream and mix it with the OGX, because I think the Bum Bum is a little strong scented. This way it tones it down the Bum Bum lasts more than a year and the OGX last all day. My mother was my best friend, but another women who influenced my life was my sixth grade teacher. She kept everything interesting, inventive and a pleasure. I don't think we sat in our seats all day. I will never forget her.

Another great video Laura! I always look forward to your videos. They are the most down to earth, helpful, budget conscious out there. I recently saw Brittany Vassuer on YT say she uses those microfiber hair scrunchies when she's washing her face she puts a scrunchie around each wrist, then she doesn't have water running down her arms. I recently purchased two makeup revolution (at cvs now) eye brightening concealer (in the lux, very pretty gold tube with the round tiny poof ball applicator at the end) one to use for it's intended purpose and the other to use as a dupe for Charlotte Tilbury's contour wand. They work identically. My mama is my hero. She's amazing. She and my dad were married 51 years when he passed away and they always set the most amazing example of cherishing their marriage and each other. I've always tried to be the companion to my sweet husband of 21 years and counting that my mom and dad were to each other. Also she has 18 grand children and 1 great grand baby. She's the most amazing nana in the world. They all love to have sleepovers at her house. Including my 4 teenagers. 😄

When you talked about your teacher I had a few tears in my eyes. I had a very special English teacher. She taught me a lot about life. I believe your students will always remember you. You make them feel as well as think! When they feel good about themselves they can learn to have empathy for others. I wish more teachers had your heart for their students. In my opinion, teaching is a calling. A teacher sacrifices and gives so much. Thank you Laura for all you do for your students and us! God bless you my friend, Sharon 💗xo

Thumbs up Laura!! I love that eyelook combo it was beautiful!! and I am trying that coconut body wash and lotion I love the smell of coconut!! Your videos never disappoint. I had a woman that greatly empowered my life I worked with her she was one of my immediate managers. I was in my early twenties raising a family and working full time she always had these tidbits of advice that were always about self-respect and how to carry yourself as a lady. She also gave me a Bible promise book on my birthday. It meant a lot because I was going through a lot that year I've never forgot her kindness. *On a side note I wanted to tell you that that white pigment foundation from LA, I have found works great as a color corrector and sometimes I use it as a primer base on the red areas of my skin and on my eyes before I apply foundation. It gives an all over even toned look of the skin and very brightening without looking cakey or heavy. Worth a try for sure 🤠🌹🍃
