To this day I have never tried a single drug! Ohh also, despite being exposed to lot's of swearwords as a kid, I am not a swearer. I once had a summer job at a chocolate factory. I was one in a production line filling trays with a selection of chocolates. I had a large sheet of chocolates which I had to put in the appointed place in the trays. I had just finished a sheet and removed it to continue with the sheet underneath. To my absolute horror I saw about half of the chocolates was crawling with maggots. I called the supervisor over to show him and I was told to just remove the affected ones and use the seemingly unaffected ones to put in the trays. Of course I didn't want to do so but I didn't want to get fired over disobeying an "order" either so when the supervisor had left I "accidentally" tipped the whole sheet on the floor. Problem solved. In that factory you rotate between different jobs inside the factory so you don't become bored from working the same position in the production line day in day out. A few days after working the production line I got to work where they melt the chocolate in large kettles to be later poured into moulds to make chocolate easter bunnies and such. I was sweeping the floor and asked a colleague where the bin was so I could empty the dustpan. He took the dustpan from me and emptied it in one of the large kettles with melted chocolate! Again I was horrified. I reported this to the supervisor who in his turn reported it to the health and safety officer of the company. It turned out I wasn't the first to report this colleague for something similar so he lost his job. I'm not proud someone lost his job because I reported him but this was just so disgusting that I couldn't let him get away with it. I'm glad to say that the molten chocolate with a some extra "ingredients" was destroyed. As a customer I once bought a case of 24 mini cans of Fanta. We were supposed to go camping and the idea was to take the cans with us for our two sons. They normally didn't get fizzy drinks too often but we went on holiday so I wanted to make an exception. It was a 3 hour drive to the camping site so while we were on our way I wanted to give my sons a sandwich and a small can of Fanta. One can didn't seem to weigh anything and when I gently shook it I didn't hear any liquid in the can. It was completely empty! I didn't open it but intended to return it to the manufacturer once we got back from our camping trip. I received an apology letter stating they had no idea how it had happened because the cans are apparently filled to a certain weight. But as compensation they sent me a full case of 24 mini cans of Fanta. So I didn't find a foreign object in some food or drink but instead I found nothing but air 😂

Dumping trash into melted chocolate is just straight up evil. I'm shocked that he didn't get arrested that's literally attempted murder like if you hate your job so bad just leave
@anita64 Жыл бұрын
@Joseph Johnson Ikr! I know working at a chocolate factory is not exactly a dream job unless you're addicted to chocolate, but for me it was only a job to cover the summer holidays. I mean, you smell nothing but chocolate all day until you left the building after work and were about half a mile away from the factory. The funny thing there was, when you start working there they tell you you can eat as much chocolate as you like while you're inside the factory but if they catch you on taking a single piece of chocolate outside the factory after work, no matter how small, you're fired. They knew you wouldn't eat too much of the chocolate because you the sweet, thick smell of it all around you al day soon makes that you don't even want to eat any chocolate at all anymore. But there was a little shop where you could buy big bags of broken chocolate letters, bunnies, and such for very little money. So I usually took a few of those bags home with me for my family. But to get back to your comment, to throw trash into the chocolate is indeed evil. He must also have been very sure none of his family would ever buy chocolate made in that factory (it was one if the leading chocolate factories in The Netherlands). And you're absolutely right, they should have made it a criminal offense!

I once worked at the service desk at a grocery store in Minnesota. A woman brought back some bananas and wanted her money back. I asked her what was wrong with them. She took the bunch out of the bag, Lifted one of the bananas, and there was a tarantula. I gave her the money, and she asked if she could keep the bananas and spider. I gave it to her, and she took it to the University of Minnesota's biology department.

Years ago, I found two dried up worms in a can of Campbell's Golden Mushroom soup. I sent a letter, along with the worms to the company. In return, I never got an apology, but only an explanation that the worms were a natural inhabitant of the substrate that the mushrooms are grown in. They also sent me two lousy coupons for two free cans of the same stuff, which I tossed out and never bought that soup again.

When I was like 13, this was back in the 90s. I used to go through the supermarket parking lot bumming change off people so I could "call mom" from the payphone. Once I had a dollar, I'd go into McDonald's, get a burger off the dollar menu. Then about half way through I'd pull out a piece of hair and put it inside. Go up and complain. Get another free one. I got caught though because my friend was an idiot. He copied me immediately after I did it, and I heard them at the counter "wait wasn't your friend just here a minute ago". I went right out the door. Ruined it for me.

The next day i took it out of the fridge and there was a MASSIVE bubble in the previously perfect shape log, no holes in the plastic thankfully something BAD was growing out of control in there. My reaction was to instantly put it in the freezer and on day 3 when it was frozen solid and no longer (hopefully) in danger of exploding on someone i returned it and the saddest part was the gal at customer service thanking me for freezing it before i brought it back. Most people arent kind enough to consider that they are human beings who work those jobs and just as horrified by that as any human with sense. And they have to wait for someone from the meat dept to come get it so it can be properly disposed of as a biohazard.

Pasta, flour, oats, rice... Any grain food. Just freeze them to kill the eggs when you buy and then store in air tight if you have a problem. It's better than nothing, honestly, what are they supposed to do? THEY only sell it; the grocery is the 'distributor'; they're not even really responsible. You can elect to shop elsewhere, not buy the brand, ever eat that food again, etc. If EVERYONE could and did sue for each little issue, you'd be paying $6+ a pound for bananas.
@schnabeltiertv3 жыл бұрын
Well, once you take it home and open it, there's no way to prove you actually found it inside. It's sad, but there are people who claim they found all kinds of stuff in their food to get something for free. So unless an investigation shows it actually came from their factory, they don't have to give you anything. They usually still do, just to avoid bad PR, but obviously they can't just hand out lots of money to unproven cases. I've worked at a restaurant and a customer came with a shard of glass, claiming he found it in a burger. My coworker gave him a refund and a free meal. But it turned out that it was impossible that it came from our kitchen. No items were broken and we only used glass that breaks in a specific way, not the kind of large shard he found. We later heard from another owner in the area that the guy was going around town, trying the same thing at other places.

Carrots, rice, pulled leg o lamb and beans. Spaghetti bolonaise. Luxury Mac and cheese. Oh , I'm single... not stupid! It takes less than 5 minutes to reheat on a plate and while it does I make a quick salad. Baby tomato, cucumber, lettuce, onion, feta, olives. Done. 5 minutes and thousands of dollars saved.

I stayed at the Bus Hostel in Reykjavik Iceland. That's where the last McDonald's meal to be sold in all of Iceland, which is the one in this video was, but has since been moved, and I got to see it. In 2009, McDonald's pulled out of Iceland totally. BTW when I went to Iceland Bus Hostel was least expensive option for lodging. I got upgraded to a room with fewer beds and on top of that I was the only guest in that room. Very friendly staff too.

I had a habit of pouring beer over my hair as a final rinse. This was about 1984 when there was a Beer based shampoo on the market. I’m in the shower and the beer wasn’t pouring out of the can, so I set it aside. When I was done I poured out what I could into a glass and something that looked like cauliflower tried to exit the can. I ended up calling the brewery and before I knew it there were two men with a briefcase and a case of beer at the door. I think that they were going to do whatever they had to so they could get that can from me. I still lived at home and my mom left me alone to do the deal. I ended up with $500 and the case of beer and they left with the can. I think that I could have gotten a better deal but what did I know. I was still several years away from being of legal age to drink in my state. I did get a letter from them a few weeks later telling me that the thing in the can was a “mother of hop”. Call it what you want, I still ended up with a sweet deal for a 17 year old.

Always freeze your bag of rice for 48 hours after you bring it home from the store. Same goes for flower, beans, and any type of grain. It will kill any eggs.

Yeah my Sister picked up a big bag of rice . I saw what looked like webs in the rice and everywhere sometime later... We end up with pantry moths everywhere. I had to throw about $500.00 of pantry food away. It took a very, very long time getting rid of them. And they get in stuff you would think they couldn't. I never buy rice in Big packages or eat it. Once when I was like 8 or 9 years old, I went with my mother to our favorite supermarket at the time, Purity Supreme, which has now been renamed just Purity and bought ice cream, this was during the summer and when we got home to eat the ice cream, my mom had discovered a dead bee in the ice cream, it wasn't buried that deep, she had only taken a second scoop when she found it, you best believe we didn't have ice cream that day! We went and returned it, they offered both a refund and another free gallon of ice cream, my mom just accepted the refund instead.

Milka is an imported confectionery company in Australia. I was about 12 when I bought a Milka chocolate bar from the corner store. While the first thing one normally does is peel the package off and start chomping on the confection I took it out and broke it open bc I noticed the expiry date was soon. I had become violently ill from food poisoning before and ALWAYS looked at expiry dates. I’m still OCD on everything expiry dates ! The Milka bar was full of maggots. I was only a child so I just threw it out but it scarred me for life.

I have several stories to share. My mom bit into a piece of metal in a Snickers bar (that didn't stop us from eating them however, lol), a college friend found a caterpillar rolled in a lot of Cheetos dust in the bottom of the bag, my husband and I bought a half-gallon of some type of fruit cocktail juice once and when we opened it and went to pour some out we got a HUGE slimy glob of mold, I got a bloody grilled chicken patty from Chili's once (they acted like it was no big deal--those things happen--and after getting extremely dirty silverware there on multiple occasions, we decided the chicken was the last straw and stopped eating there). Oh, and a bloody fried chicken breast in college--they also acted like it wasn't a big deal and that it just happens sometimes. Honestly, it's a wonder I can find anything to trust to eat anymore.
