I usually listen to rock, metal and sometimes even ''pop music'' but none of my friends actually know I love this kind of music. It's absolutely beautiful

Raag Dhanasari is now preserved by Sikh musician only. It is a wonderfully sweet raga invoking feelings of intense Devotion. Unfortunately, this raag has the same notes as Bhim Palasi and the two raags are so similar in presentation that mainstream classical musicians have stopped singing/playing Dhanasari because they find it difficult to keep it apart from the more popular Bhim Palasai. It is is great spiritual pleasure to hear Dhanasari from expert Sikh musicians like these.

I love this song... as soon as I heard it I had to learn to play it. I studied sarod with Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, and I recognize beautiful music when I hear it!

Awesome! Shivers when he started chanting Mool Mantra! I want to learn how to play Saranda or the rabab. Rabab might be a bit easier because I also play guitar. But love the sound of the Saranda!

@Satyasheelrawal There is nothing wrong here. It's 2011. Studio recorded music to video is the norm. It does not say "live performance." The melody is culturally important, revealing influences that stretch far West and East. Even as a non-Sikh, the sentiment is strong for me. Live would be lovely, but this is a nice, clean rendition.

@Satyasheelrawal What does it matter? The musicians can play it as I an I have seen them live and its incredible. Do you realise how much would have to go into recording this live? Just appreciate the beautiful music and be thankful it is being shared for all to see the Divinity of the Naad and Raags.

Awesome music. I've played guitar for many years, mostly rock with all sorts of other stuff mixed in, but I've been getting the itch to play a fretless instrument, possibly bowed. I've checked out some videos featuring the Kemenche and Dilruba, but I'm not sure what I want to get. I hate to be a bother, but could you tell me the names of the instruments that the band is using? Looks like there's four bowed instruments and two plucked instrument (besides the percussionist).

I wish I knew the name of each instrument This is beautiful music and seems fitting, although perhaps not geographically correct, to acknowledge Ravi Shankar'a passing

I see them playing. They even seem to be playing the same song as the audio. If the audio has been replaced by a better copy from the CD, then that's an artistic choice, but I really do see them playing. And being weak willed, I suddenly want to have one of those rababs. I really should try to get over that bad habit whenever I see a video.
