Prof Zoltán Sarnyai is a medically-trained PhD neuroscientist with an active research program in the neurobiological mechanisms of stress and psychiatric disorders, including drug addiction, schizophrenia and depression. He is currently a Professor at James Cook University.
Prof. Sarnyai was previously University Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology, University of Cambridge and a Fellow of Pembroke College, where he was Director of Studies for Medicine. He trained at McLean Hospital at Harvard Medical School and at The Rockefeller University, supported by the DuPont-Warren Award and a NARSAD Young Investigator Award, respectively.

I don't know about keto but fasting saved my life. Went from 200kgs to 90 in one year with barely any loose skin. After 5 years I'm keeping myself at 75kgs with little effort: just no fructose, 10% carbs from veggies and 50-50 animal/vegetable protein.

Starving yourself will certainly make you lose weight. Vegetables are a type of starvation as well since we cannot digest the protein. Cut out the indigestible vegetables and you'll feel even better.

I'm currently having trouble with lymphoma, and I have been told that fasting can help. What did you eat while you were fasting? Thanking you in advance.

this entire talk, specifically the science behind mitochondrial dysregulation, has been established by Dr. Thomas Seyfried in his book "Cancer as a Metabolic Disease: On the Origin, Management and Prevention of Cancer (2012)" and the overlaps of Prof Zoltán Sarnyai and Dr. Seyfried are in perfect agreement. I wish these people would speak to eachother. Dr. Sarnyai links the mitochondrial dysregulation to schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, Dr. Seyfries links it to cancer. There needs to be much, much more research in this area.

There are many many doctors who understand this . Usually the ones who realise that all their years of training were wasted because they weren’t meant to look for the cause of illness , they were not meat to cure a patient , just prescribe the drug to treat the symptoms.

The problem is that 99% of research is financed by Big Pharma Which have only for 99% interest into finding patentable medicines Dietary manipulation only serves patients, not the stockholder's bottomline, it won't pay a ROI to your pension holder institutions nor any political donations to your favourite politicians.

Appreciate the expansion of ketogenic therapy into the area of mental health. Most presentations report beneficial outcomes with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and bipolar. Would like to know more about any benefit with OCD.

This was a brilliant brilliant presentation. We are slowly beginning to understand the metabolic pathways to physical and mental health. Mental health issues like schizophrenia will eventually be controllable with diet- just like diabetes.
