Very informative thank you very much. My question is , is there a way that one can increase the water temperature in winter ,or a way of reserving heat? And also is there a way of measuring the amount of oxygen in the pond

Thanks for the lesson. I see almost all fish providers say 10 by 10 by 1.5m dam should hold 1500 fish. Is that correct
@profeedszimbabwe60810 ай бұрын
With stagnant water - that is water that's stagnant most of the time being exchanged on a need basis, we recommend 5 fish per square metre. So a 10 by 10 can hold 500 fingerlings. With aeration the stocking density can be increased, for example, if flowing water can be provided on a continuous basis then 10 fish can be stocked, that will be 1000 fingerlings for a 10 by 10

@mazvitamufukare6799 Жыл бұрын
This depends a lot on the conditions such as water temperature and feeding but we have a farmer who grew to 1kg in 11 months!! We are hoping to do a follow up soon

Do those green stuff under the pond affect the fish
@profeedszimbabwe60811 ай бұрын
This green stuff is algae, it is a natural source of feed - it produces oxygen during the day for the pond so in that regard its good for the fish. However, at night it respires so it uses oxygen and begins to compete for oxygen with the fish - this is one of the most common causes of mortality in fish. Therefore, a farmer has to monitor the algae and make sure its not too much so they can benefit without facing the effect of too much algae. We tie strips of plastics on them. The plastics will be flapping in the wind to scare away birds. But you can also use a net called a bird net to cover the pond to protect from birds
