Wow, I started with an associates degree in nursing from Long Beach City College in 1998, but before that, I was a CNA for 6 years.

Hi there! Thank you for reaching out! We have helped many international nurses in the pursuit of CRNA! 🙂 Essentially you will follow all the same requirements as everyone else so the Academy will be highly beneficial when you're ready to join. The main thing you will need to do differently is get your ADN/BSN evaluated for equivalency. An organization called WES can do this. Alternatively, you can book a transcript audit with Dr. Ballister. She was an Assistant Program Director for MUSC (South Carolina) for over 10 years and sat on the interview committee. She is very knowledgeable on this area. You can book this service via her service page on TeachRN. Dr B's Services Page: app.teachrn.com/drb I would do this step first so you know if you have additional courses ahead of you 😊 Also, you will need to gain ICU experience here in the states for the 1-2 year minimum depending on your program. This article has information about coming to work in the US as a foreign-educated nurse: www.nursingworld.org/practice-policy/workforce/clinical-practice-material/foreign-educated-nurses/ Lastly, I'd download a copy of our Free 8 Steps to CRNA Planning Guide; it will help you understand all the requirements and begin the planning process. Here's the link: www.cspaedu.com/howtocrna The Academy can then help plug you into the community and become a competitive candidate 🙂 I hope all this helps get you started. Thank you again for reaching out! Cheers to your future!
