If color picking doesn't work for ya - like it doesn't for me - just change the colour wheel to RGB Hex Sliders and copy paste value between swatches and gradient map. Great tutorial mate, thank you!

Seems like a lot of steps. Is there no quick way to do this like PS match color, you know, where you can simply match the color from a layer?
