Thanks for uploading this incredible video around the Bubble Works we all knew and loved, just how I remember and a much missed classic ride! Can smell it through the computer screen!

Glad you enjoyed the video - I was amazed how much the smells were costing :-) Was a unique ride and one I always did when visiting the park

Thanks so much for sharing this. I remember clutching my bag of Market Square donuts to stop them from getting wet on my last ride in 2005! Great to learn new things about this ride most of us didn't know before.

Great to see it again, it was Myself and Reg Rook that installed this water ride, it has been revamped three times, I believe the trough ramp a station are still original.
@EuroThemeParkArchive4 жыл бұрын
That's right Im pretty sure the trough is still original after 30 years, the ramp was replaced in 2016 so had run a long time.

Just like to say that I still have the champagne cork from the bottle that John opened to launch the Vampire Ride, I was on the first run.

Amazing how powerful these formative memories are that pop up unexpectedly. I found my way to this video because my wife was wearing some sun tan lotion that smelled like my memory of Professor Burp's Bubbleworks. Great story in the middle of this video about that smell, apparently we were all risking Legionnaires to experience it. If anyone ever finds out the combination of scents that made it up, I would love to hear it. I am assuming it was some synthetic fruit flavours.

Hello There, thank you for uploading this tour, it was absolutely brilliant, I remember it well! Cheers Peter Mc :) Interesting to know that it's located underneath the Vampire Station...

It was located OVER the vampire station...but yes, fascinating stuff from John and Lee doing the tour

Thank you so much for the video! Do you have any more old Chessington videos especially Vampire?
@davidjellis4 жыл бұрын
I don't think I have any more old video - haven't been to Chessington for many years
@zinniazinnia21453 жыл бұрын
It wasn't so much about the characters but the actual ride with fountains and bubbles winding through the caverns of Chessington.

My pleasure - I have been wanting to get some old archive tape edited for a long time and managed to get a few good bits to share - there are more bits on ol;d video tapes but struggling to get the VCR to play the tapes...working on it!

In one trip to Chessington I went on Professor Burps Bubbleworks 7 times, the ride operators let me stay on for three trips round at the end of the day too..

Fantastic and subbed, would it be ok to use a little of this for a video I am making about Chessington. Will be sure to give you a credit.
@davidjellis4 жыл бұрын
If it's only a small part of the video that would be OK, providing the video is not monetised. If you are happy with that, please add a credit to David Ellis and a link to the original clip. Cheers.

davidjellis thank you so much. Won’t be monetised and won’t use too much of it. Really appreciate you replying.

4:50 EXCUSE ME WHAT DOES THAT PINK SIGN SAY... oh...ok. phew. (probably why we don't use that word these days) Wow, this was really in depth, and even though I have no context for literally anything about this ride, it was really cool to see behind the scenes of a dark water ride.

It says snigger gas...snigger as in laughing :-) Agreed, that font is not great! Glad you enjoyed watching - It's always fascinating to hear John Wardley talk about anything :-)

Looking at the state of the ride then I’m guessing it was during the winter season. Was this before are after the 2001 season because Vampire was closed that year?
@davidjellis4 жыл бұрын
Was 24 February 2001 - so in the closed season before the park opened www.coasterclub.org/2001/02/24/chessington-behind-the-scenes-24-feb-2001/
